Dance Into The Fray by Nichelle Gregory

She stood staring at the flames and the acrid scent of burning wood beckoned to her.

For too long she had ignored the smoke, believing the rain would come.

Turning her back had been a mistake.

Now, she had no choice but to face the heat.

She was not scared.

No, she was ready...ready to dance into the fray.

Last Cup by Nichelle Gregory

"Tell me how much you like the coffee," he said yanking at her dress.

"I- I like the coffee."

She heard him behind her unbuckling his belt while she took another sip.

"You're welcome, dear. You do realize that's the last cup?"

She smiled, knowing he was staring at her wriggle on top the stainless steel counter-top. "I do. Which means-"

"Which means you give me a fuc-"

Simply Sexy Stories Welcomes Margie Church & K.B. Cutter!

NG: Today, I’m excited to welcome K.B. Cutter and Margie Church on Simply Sexy Stories! Hi, you guys!

MC: Hello!

KB: Hi Nichelle, thanks for hosting us.

NG: My pleasure! I don't get that many dynamic duos on my blog, so this is a special treat!

KB: This is like a homecoming for me. Your site was one of the first blogs I had the pleasure of being invited to promote my first ever professionally published story, Summer Heat. Yup, now I'm an old salt hand at this biz. Hey, no snickering you two!

MC: I hope I'm wearing the right outfit for such a cool blog!

NG: *eyeing Margie's blue corset, garter belt, pantyhose and matching stilettos*

You dressed perfectly! Your corset compliments my red one so well.

*eyes Kb dressed in work boots and a tight thong*
*clears throat*
I think you're both ready for some trivia questions!

KB: - sips frozen tropical dink - I am now, hey, its five o'clock somewhere!

MC: Oh no. Trivia? That requires memories. *looks in drawer for spare memory* Ready!

NG: LOL! What’s your favorite time of day?

KB: In the fall, its when the kids get on the bus! HA! Joking . . . sorta. Late at night. House is quiet. Everyone is in bed and I' m left to my own devices. –cue maniacal laughter-

NG: *g* I totally feel ya...Hey, scoot over, KB.

MC: Back to school sex is the best, eh? Oops.

NG:, there's a way to celebrate school resuming! But, Margie, what really is your favorite time of day?

MC: Evening, especially in the winter. I like the night because things slow down and I have time to write.

NG: What’s your favorite place to write, KB? You know we don't usually dance until the interview is over.

KB: Lol! Ok! Oh, no dancing. Damn and I wore my sequined G- string.. My place to write is the kitchen. Fresh brewed coffee, sunlight streaming through the window, birds flittering on the windowsill. In addition, comfy chair pads and outlet close to center island to plug in my laptop. :)

MC: No wonder you're always distracted, K.B.! You need to work in the basement like I do. I'm very disciplined in my work, so I have a formal setting and even a little plaque with an antique typewriter on it that says Le Office. My office is nice though, and I can see the patio and pool (in the 20 minutes of summer we have in Minnesota).

NG: KB, your work environment sounds very nice. Margie, wow! You sound very self-disciplined. Maybe I need to try writing in the basement. ;) What’s your favorite summer drink, guys?

KB: Coffee. Oh. Right. Foo-foo type drink. Parrot Bay coconut rum, orange juice over crushed ice. Hmmm…

MC: Arnold Palmer if I'm driving. Jameson straight up if I'm not.

NG: Mmmm...that sounds good, KB! Margie, I couldn't get down with that. That's too hard core for me...the drink. *clearing throat*
What’s the craziest thing you’ve done for love? KB, you go first.
KB: Get married. –blinks- What? Okay, seriously, passed up career advance opportunities at work to spend more time with my family.

MC: Funny you should say that K.B., because I gave up a very lucrative career to be a more hands-on parent. But I worked from home part time – if I didn't, my kids would have been on the street corner by lunchtime holding a sign looking for a job for me.

NG: LOL! What’s the wildest place a story idea has struck you?

KB: In the bathroom. Ah, sounds pedestrian, but guess what I was doing at the time. Oh. Wait. Scratch that. I'd have to say Church. Not Margie, but as in Hail Mary. I thought of this wicked four way ménage before communion. Yes, I'm on the Hell Express.

MC: Sprays the slide to hell with PAM for K.B. and gives him a nudge. "Adios. Save me a spot!" I've got no such stories to tell and now I'll have to go to confession knowing what K.B. has cooked up.

NG: Me too, Margie! Wait. I don't go confession. Save some PAM for me as well, Margie. ;-)

Let’s talk about the KB Cutter/ Margie Church collaboration. How did you two come about working together?

KB: It started with a series of email exchanges, a bit of back and forth interactive writing. The story centered on a guy who, in the presence of a Domme, was struggling with acquiescing to her 'mentoring.' After a while, the story evolved into something very complex, emotionally and psychologically (and HOT). The light bulb moment occurred and we were like, "Hey, this would make a great book!" Here we are!

MC: What he said. Plus we were writing for Noble Publishing together – that's where we met and we just struck up a friendship. Surprisingly, I thought he was a lesbian for the first six months I knew him. Those Saturday night fuck me pumps were pretty convincing. ;-)

NG: *chocking on my Appletini* I'm gonna leave that one alone. What’s the writing process like when it involves two authors?

KB: For us, very smooth! We did not face an adverse time zone, and since we were buds before this collaboration, it was easy for us to chat on the phone, plot the course of the novel, and outline each chapter.

MC: I'm the lead editor on the book, even though we edit each other. So, those first chapters of messing around took quite a bit of time to sort out and find the real gems and pull together the start of Razor. We don't worry about who writes more/less. We work to have a seamless read. The most awkward part was reading to each other on the phone. That was a requirement. We'd talk about the upcoming scene and then whoever had the next turn wrote it. But since we aren't near each other, we read to each other on a regular basis. Let me tell you. Mr. Cutter has a very sexy voice and sometimes I could hardly breathe when he was reading. And when it was my turn, I swear sometimes I died a thousand deaths of embarrassment. And planning out those love scenes? It was hilarious listening to the two of us use purple prose with each other!

NG: OMG! I bet! Did you two face any creative differences while co-writing? And if so, how did you resolve them?

KB: No, nothing insurmountable. I have a tendency to write formal, so my task was to 'contemporize' my prose. And not to be afraid of contractions. Oh and slay the pesky adverbs.

MC: *Sips her booze* As long as he did what I said, we were all good. Just kidding. We had a good idea of our expectations and roles before we started writing and when it became evident there was real equality in the work, there was no reason to pitch diva fits. It was about the story. Period.

NG: Kb, what’s the best thing about working with Margie?

KB: That she lives in Minnesota. I kid. Margie is disciplined and extremely knowledgeable about the craft of writing and the publishing world. A genuinely good person who is willing to go the extra mile to help a noob like myself out!

NG: Margie, same question!

MC: Okay, that made me laugh. And that is one of the nice things about working with K.B. He's really funny and easy-going. We think so much alike it's scary sometimes.

NG: What advice would you give to other authors considering co-authoring?

KB: The story comes first. Author egos MUST be checked at the door.

MC: Be REALLY honest about your strengths, weaknesses, and goals before you start. Really like each other because this book – and all the ancillary promotion will tie you together indefinitely. Get separate contracts.

NG: That's great, advice! Okay, let’s talk about Razor! What’s this sexy tale all about?

KB: Razor isn't about unhappy people finding better or different relationships outside their marriage. It's about people who have a different perspective on traditional love and an uncommon ability to be truthful and trust. This is a true BDSM romance. The title plays a physical role in the book when Bryce becomes "intimate" with a straight edged razor and emotional role as it slices through traditional concepts. You'll get a clear idea of how a healthy D/s relationship should be like. Even when they're chained and flogged.

NG: What inspired you two to pen this story?

KB: We both knew Razor needed to be told in a large format and offered to a broader audience than just the two of us shooting emails back and forth.

MC: Boredom with our current projects and an unending desire to write the next cool book.

NG: Both of you give me one reason readers will love Razor.

KB: It's for adults. An emotionally and psychologically textured novel, with large dollops of humor, and BDSM drama that will burn up your e-reader. And may just cause another baby boom. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating at tad with that last statement . .

MC: Razor exposes a reader to something deeper in the BDSM lifestyle that isn't often explored. The rules and behaviors are very interesting and make this story unique. Oh, and it's very erotic. Do I get a demerit for stating two things?

NG: I'm gonna let you slide this time, Margie. I want to thank you both for coming on Simply Sexy Stories! I wish you guys the best with this release and all of your future endeavors in 2012!

KB: Thank you, mah dear. I'm sorry I lowered the property values.

MC: Thank you. I hope readers will enjoy Razor and watch for the sequel, Razor: Desire's Edge, this winter!

NG:  Ha! You didn't nothing of the kind, KB! Margie, you guys will have to come back when the sequel is done!

KB: But, wait, there's more! Margie and I would like to offer a few prizes. One is a very delicious poster of the H-O-T cover art for Razor. And numbah two, I'm offering any title from my extensive backlist (hold the sniggering. I know, I'm being silly). So, please make your comments super awesome cool. Thanks!

Blurb: Amy and Bryce don't live the Dominant/submissive lifestyle, but Bryce acts every bit the Dom in the bedroom. And Amy's had enough. Enlisting her best friend Raine's help is a drastic move. Though Bryce doubts he'll ever become a switch, he's determined to make Amy happy. Months later, he struggles to keep an emotional distance from Raine. His journey of self-awareness is anything but predictable or vanilla.

Three people with different motives come together to form a very contemporary relationship. Who will get what they want, and who will be forever changed?

desire’s edge

Wet heat pooled between Amy’s legs as she watched Bryce through the kitchen window. Knees trembling from the insistent throbbing of her clit, she pressed her thighs together, knowing her panties were already damp.

She really wanted to suck her husband’s cock.

Bryce took off his T-shirt, and draped it over the neat pile of split logs. In the heat of the day, perspiration glistened on his chiseled torso. One handed, he thrust the axe head into a tree stump, his bicep rippling.

A jolt of sexual electricity zipped through her every time he moved. Her nipples strained against the white cotton tank top she wore.

Amy needed to calm her jangled nerves. She inhaled the earthy scent of the forest wafting through the open kitchen window. White lace curtains fluttered on the light breeze. The frilly sheers were one of the few feminine accents in the rugged décor.

She traced the wood grain of the butcher’s block with her fingers. Their cabin was built of white pine, saddle notched logs. Rough-hewn plank floors and functional, yet elegant, Quaker furniture added a certain Spartan charm. Amy didn’t mind the rugged design. All of it seemed an organic compliment to the lush beauty of Norford Falls, Maine. And their vacation home seemed a natural extension of her husband, Bryce, who’d built the retreat. Bryce Gage thrived on hard work, and even though he was CEO of Gage Commercial Constructs, he always said he still enjoyed getting dirty.

Amy relished his large, calloused hands roaming her body. A mischievous grin played on her lips as she grabbed a can of beer from the refrigerator. She sauntered out the kitchen door, and strode down the sloping lawn, with her hips swaying theatrically in her tight Daisy Duke’s.

At the sound of the screen door slamming, his head turned toward her. She had his attention with her firm, pert breasts bouncing suggestively as she walked.

His gunmetal-blue gaze swept over her body.

She shivered with anticipation.

The corners of his mouth turned up, a grin curiously lupine in appearance.

“Thought you might like a cold one, babe.” Amy offered him the beer.

Bryce smiled wider, revealing even white teeth, the lines of his unshaven face an alluring masculine contrast. He reached for the can.

Amy pulled it back, holding it between her breasts as she slid her hand into her shorts.

His expression morphed from curious to aroused. His nostrils flared, muscles visibly tensed.

She dipped her fingers into her moist panties and between the folds of her sex. She shuddered over the provocative, erotic sensations, but never let her gaze waver. Removing her hand, Amy traced her moisture over the rim, popped the tab, and handed the beer to him.

Bryce brought the can to his lips. His tongue darted over the dewy metal before swallowing.

She sucked in her breath under his intense gaze.

He placed the can on an upturned log, his jaw clenching.

With anxiety rolling in her stomach, Amy watched in silence, waiting for her husband to give voice to her churning thoughts. The look in his eyes told Amy she’d surprised him.

Would he let her have her way?

Emboldened, she pressed against him. The full impact of her seduction manifested itself. Every hard line and angle of his body seemed to bulge with heat. Without breaking eye contact, Amy reached up and drew his lips to hers.

Curiosity, mixed with passion, flared in his eyes. He didn’t resist, didn’t blink.

Simply Sexy Stories Welcomes W. Lynn Chantale!

NG: I’m welcoming W Lynn Chantale on Simply Sexy Stories! Hi, W Lynn!

WLC: Hi Nichelle, thanks for having me here today.

NG: My pleasure! Let’s start with some W Lynn Chantale trivia questions!

WLC: *claps hands* I love trivia questions.

NG: What’s your favorite time of day?

WLC: Morning.

NG: Yikes! Really? Wow. What’s your favorite place to write?

WLC: At the dining room table.

NG: What’s your favorite summer drink?

WLC: This is tough, because I drink a lot of water, but to switch it up a bit I alternate between Coca-Cola and lemonade.

NG: What’s your favorite thing about summer?

WLC: Fresh produce. There's something about walking into a farmer's market and the aroma of sweet peaches, sugary watermelon, fresh herbs just wafts through the air. I love that smell.

NG: too! What’s the craziest thing you’ve done for love?

WLC: I walked about a mile in the middle of a blizzard to get black roses for a Valentine's gift for my boyfriend.

NG: Impressive and very romantic, W Lynn! What’s the wildest place a story idea has struck you?

WLC: Does church count?

NG: Absolutely! ;-) What are you reading right now?

WLC: I'm between books at the moment, having read everything on the way down and looking for something to read. I'm open to suggestions.

NG: I've got some for you! We'll discuss later. Do you have an e-reader? If so, tell me whether it was easy or difficult to adjust to reading digital books. Do you prefer paperbacks?

WLC: I still have paperbacks, but I love my Kindle. The hardest thing for me to remember is not to fold the corner of the page. Doing that is not necessary on an e-reader since it remembers the last page read.

NG: You’ve been captured and your captor tells you to choose either your MP3 player or your e-reader...which one would you choose?

WLC: That's a hard one. I suppose I could always sing if I brought my e-reader.

NG: What do you think is the biggest misconception about females writing in this genre?

WLC: I think one is we live what we write. Not necessarily so, it could just be well researched.

NG: What genre(s) do you write and why?

WLC: I write erotic, romantic suspense and Christian/Inspirational and contemporary romance. As for why, I enjoy writing in those areas and before I wrote romance I wrote mysteries.

NG: Why are you drawn to writing romance?

WLC: Some may say this is arrogant or what have you, but after reading my gazillionth Harlequin novel I knew I could do better. I was tired of reading characters especially the heroines who were weak and naive, or pampered princesses. Gawd, that drove me crazy, or reading a book set in the backwoods of a rolling ranch in some obscure part of the country.

NG: LOL! Do the people in your life know about your writing? Are they supportive?

WLC: Yes and they are some of the most supportive people. I wouldn't be where I am without them.

NG: What advice would you give to inspiring authors interested in penning successful erotic romances?

WLC: Aside from keep writing? Write what you like. Just because something is trendy or now stay true to you. I admit I like the classic plots, but find a new twist. Think of a classic plot line like a little black dress and how you dress it up with heels or flats, gold or silver. belt or no belt to give it different look, those classic plot lines are the same way. Dress it up and flaunt your stuff!

NG: Great advice! Okay, let's talk about your work. Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?

WLC: I think I'm a bit of both. Most of the time I have an idea of where I'd like things to go, but other times having an outline helps steer me.

NG: How many hours a day do you try to commit to your manuscript?

WLC: I try to commit at least 2, but there are times I do write all day.

NG: What’s your biggest distraction from focusing on your writing?

WLC: Family. I enjoy my husband and children and they can be very entertaining.

NG: What are you working on for 2012?

WLC: That's a good question. I've a couple of erotic romantic suspenses I'm trying to finish up so I can submit them. A couple of books I plan to self-publish and a release this month on July 27th.

NG: W Lynn is here today to her latest release The Pick-Up Wife. What's this tale all about about?

WLC: The Pick-Up Wife is a story of second chances. Of a husband who allowed ambition to tear apart his marriage and what happens when he tries to mend a bridge he so thoughtlessly burned.

NG: What inspired you to pen this story?

WLC: This was an oldie sitting half on my hard drive and half in long hand. I wanted to do a secret baby thing. (classic plot line) My publisher did and in-house call for short stories with a them of broken hearts where the couple had to come together. I pitched my story, tweaking the plot to match the theme and the rest is history.

NG: Very cool! Give me three reasons readers will love The Pick-Up Wife.

WLC: It's romantic, a little bit funny, and I think has quite a bit of heart.

NG: sounds perfectly delightful! What's the one thing readers can always count on when picking up one of your books?

WLC: A sensual read. I hope that comes across in this story.

NG: Thank you so much for coming on Simply Sexy Stories, W Lynn, best wishes for all your endeavors in 2012!

WLC: Thank you so much for inviting me here today.

Blurb: Leo Shepard has few regrets, but leaving his wife Symmone to pursue his career was a catastrophic mistake. Now that he’s achieved his every dream and is about to make partner at Greene and Banks Architects, he lacks one thing, a wife. But Leo doesn’t want just any wife, he wants the woman he left behind.

From the moment she laid eyes on Leo, Symmone knew she would have her happily ever after. The last thing she expected was a divorce and a broken heart. Devastated by the end of her marriage, she has no choice but to quit school and pick up the pieces of her life.

Working two jobs to support herself and her children, Symmone has little room in her life for romance and even less for her pulsating attraction to her ex-husband. When Leo strolls into the cafe where she works, bent on reconciliation, the chemistry between them is more powerful than ever. Yet she won't give in to his soft words and expensive gifts. More than just her heart is at stake, her children are, as well.

Caution! Super Sexy Excerpt Below:
She was warm and snug for the first time in years. Strong arms tightened around her as she settled deeper into the security of the embrace. Lips, moist and soft, nibbled the hollow of her shoulder, while a solid erection bounced against her butt.

A sigh left her lips. If she was dreaming, she didn’t want to wake up. Familiar hands traveled down her body and slid beneath the cotton of her shirt. She arched into the palms cupping her breasts. One hand delved lower, while the other remained to tease the soft globe.

She shifted, throwing her leg over a powerful thigh to give the fingers brushing her mound better access to her aching folds. She held her breath as those digits slipped between her legs and slid inside her heat.

Her hips jerked at the welcome invasion and she moaned. She turned her head until her lips touched his, demanding more, yielding everything. When he flicked his thumb against the button of nerves her entire body clenched.

Gone was the languid lover. Intimacy had been lacking in her life for far too long and she needed the fire of this man. With trembling hands she tugged at Leo’s shirt. She had to feel his skin against hers. Somehow, between desperate kisses, he managed to disrobe, leaving her in his borrowed top.

Early morning light fell across his features, stark with unrestrained passion. She lifted a hand and traced his lips. He grabbed her hand and planted a kiss in the center of her palm.

He traced the triangle of skin at the opening of the shirt before he slipped each button from its mooring. The garment fell away, exposing her skin to the cool air. Her nipples tightened further under his scrutiny. She reached up and drew him down for a kiss. He obliged her mouth before moving to her chin, the hollow of her throat, and the valley of her breasts. Attention was laved on each puckered peak before he moved down her body, trailing kisses against her heated flesh.

She clutched the sheet in her hands as his tongue swirled against her stomach, teasing the raised edge of a scar, before traversing lower. A moan eased past her lips as his thumbs parted her labia. Air skittered across her exposed sex. When his tongue licked her from top to bottom she sobbed in pleasure.

He wedged his shoulders between her legs, exposing her even further to his oral exploration. When she tried to wiggle away from his marauding mouth he grasped her buttocks and hauled her closer.

He took his time alternating between long slow licks to rapid flicks of his tongue, which left her moaning and sighing his name. Her hips thrust toward his questing mouth while pleasure swamped her. Flames flickered and sizzled through her veins as he kept her focused on what he was doing. He slid two fingers into her channel, stretching her while he teased her clit with his tongue. She relished the tight sensation but craved more. His fingers moved. In and out. In and out, urging her closer, stoking her passion until she burned for him. She rode his hand and prayed this sweet torture wouldn’t end. He withdrew his fingers only to spear deep, lapping at her cream.

She didn’t want his loving to end, so exquisite was the pleasure he offered. Once more he sealed his mouth to her delicate flower, his tongue delving deep. Her hips bucked, riding the wave of ecstasy he provoked.

Tension coiled tighter, her belly bunching under his tender ministrations. Everything centered on the delight of his lips and mouth. Each rasp of his tongue brought her closer and closer, until her world narrowed. So close.

She whimpered as he eased the assault on her clit to place feather light kisses around the area. When he pulled his mouth from her entirely she shrieked a protest.

Superstitious by Nichelle Gregory

“Are you superstitious?”

“No.” He caressed her breast, loving the way she subtly rocked her hips against him. “I make my own magic.”

He suckled her bottom lip, ready to kiss her again.

“Let me show you.”

He tightened his arm around her waist and her dark brown eyes appeared almost obsidian in the shadows of the room.

“So, you don’t believe in bad luck?”

“Not at all.” He pulled back a little to study her beautiful face. “Are you second guessing this little tryst?”

“Not at all. I’m glad our paths crossed...”

He chuckled as she drew out her last word. “Jacque. I’m glad our paths crossed to...”

Jacque was convinced her smile was a bit of magic too as she slid her hand between them to caress him.

“Are you bad luck, Cat?”

She lifted up on his lap, held his gaze while guiding his cock into her and Jacque decided her answer didn’t matter.

“Not if you don’t believe,” Cat whispered in his ear.

Her Sassy Mouth by Nichelle Gregory & Benjamin Russell

"Dammit, woman! What should I do with this sassy mouth of yours, huh?"

"I'm sor-"

"Shhh..." He pressed his fingers into her mouth. "I know you're sorry, but there's still a decision to be made."

It took all of his control to contain his lust. Her hot flesh beneath his hand tempted him to ravage her as the intoxicating fragrance of her desire inflamed his senses.

He caressed the full swell of her bottom lip and his cock throbbed. Deliah wasn’t just, he was convinced a gluttonous, demon shrew literally possessed her mouth. She bucked against her thigh, impatient for whatever he had to give her. He considered taking her mouth - her demon mouth which could drain him in a matter of minutes.

He liked being on edge and keeping her there for hours. Occasionally, he’d let her tease and torment him. She knew how to play him like a flute. Not this time. He was going to make her sing to his tune first tonight.

He’d let her encase his cock in the wet heat of her mouth, make her think he was appeased by her passion, but he would decide when they both came. She needed a reminder of just who was in control and he was going to enjoying every minute of reminding her.

As though reading his mind, Deliah opened her mouth and sucked on the tip of his forefinger. She swirled her tongue around his finger and raw desire made his already stiff cock harder.

“Delilah. Woman, what are you trying to do to me?”

She melted against his body with a soft moan. Samuel gritted his teeth as she began to roll her hips. Delilah knew just how to move, grinding her soft, firm ass against his raging erection. She took his finger to the back of her throat and her wanton action almost pushed the desire to teach her a lesson out of his mind.

Deliah opened her mouth with a throaty laugh. “Well, Samuel, what have you decided?”

His gaze fell to her lips before returning to her eyes.

“Get on your knees now.”

Take Off The Shirt by Nichelle Gregory

"You know this isn't your shirt," she said giving him her best don't-mess-with-me look.

"Take it off and let me see," he replied back taking a sip from the coffee mug in his hand.

The scent of her favorite brew wafted over to her. Her gaze over his naked body to his semi-hard cock.

"You know I don't like to play before I've had my coffee."

His sexy grin made her pulse sped up. The sight of him never ceased to inspire lust much to her annoyance.

"You want some coffee? Take off my shirt--"

"You mean my shirt," she huffed watching him approach the bed. Her eyes widened at the sight of his now full erection. Desire made her feel less disagreeable. "Give me a sip and I'll take off the shirt."

"A compromise?"

"For the coffee?" He asked passing her the mug.

"For the coc-" She stopped short and they both laughed.

Simply Sexy Stories Welcomes Kendel Davi!

NG: I’m welcoming Kendel Davi on Simply Sexy Stories! Hi, Kendel!

KD: Thanks Nichelle. I’m excited to be here on Simply Sexy Stories. I’m pretty new to all of this so that fact that you’re breaking me in is an honor and a pleasure.

NG: The pleasure is all mine! Okay, let’s start with some Kendel Davi trivia questions!

KD: Cool. I’m ready. It’s like Jeopardy but I have all the answers, I hope.

NG: LOL! What’s your favorite time of day?

KD: As Ray Charles sang The Night Time is the Right Time. I love the night. A lot of it has to do with New York City. The things you can witness on a late night stroll in Manhattan when you have writers block is amazing. Even though I’ve lived in Los Angeles for the past 18 years, I still think the night is the best time for me to get things out. It’s quiet and the darkness allows my mind to go places that it might not go in the light of day.

NG: I agree, Kendel! What’s your favorite place to write?

KD: I’d have to say on the patio of my apartment. I don’t write out there at night but during the day, it’s perfect. I live on the 3rd floor and there is a huge tree that frames a nice view of the neighborhood. Also, I think the tree is some sort of mating place for all the birds in the area. Since the end of spring I’ve seen nothing but mating rituals going on in front of my face. Sparrows, humming birds, a few blue jay and crows from sun up to sun down going at it. Hell, I should just name them and write a story as if they were people and see what happens.

NG: *g* All that bird lovin' sounds like a hot story for sure! What’s your favorite summer drink?

KD: Sun brewed iced tea. Mainly green or black tea. On weekends I’ll wake up early, grab some tea bags and a pitcher of cold filtered water, head out to the patio to write and let the sun do all the work.

NG: Mmm...I love iced tea too! What’s your favorite thing about summer?

KD: It feels like summer 65 percent of the year in Los Angeles so you get used to it but I guess, if I had to pick one thing, it would be the nighttime breeze. It gets really hot during the day and very cool at night so after having the sun beat down on you for hours having that cool breeze hit you is stimulating and relaxing. Plus, there’s little to no humidity and you know how that can be? Summers in New York City made me sweat as soon as I stepped outside and the night was just sticky. Out here, it’s that cool nighttime breeze that really brings a comforting close to the day.

NG: *shudders* Don't even mention humidity to me, right now. It's soooo hot and sticky here in the Windy City. Whew! Cool nighttime breezes sounds delish!

So, what’s the craziest thing you’ve done for love?

KD: This might not seem so crazy now but it was at the time. I wrote my current girlfriend an erotic story about her before we started dating. I didn’t know if she enjoyed erotica or not so when I was writing it, I had to focus on the emotional aspects rather then the physical actions. Most of my writing before that had been political or humorous stage plays. That’s what she knew me for but as things started to escalate between us and her teasing had reached a critical point, I had to do something. It was a challenge. She knew that she had my attention so I shifted our exchange by revealing how I felt in a story about us. I was scared out of my mind because if the story went down the wrong path there was a huge chance that this budding relationship would go down as well. That’s not to say I played it safe, I just made sure the focus was not on what I wanted to do to her so much but what I wanted to do for her. That happened over three years ago so and we’re still together so I guess I hit that perfect balance.

NG: Wow! That's so romantic and erotic, Kendel! Your love story would make a great story line for a tale written to be shared. ;-)

What's the craziest thing you've done for lust?

KD: Well, I guess that would have to be the time I ended up being the only guy at a lesbian orgy. It didn’t start off being that way. It was a birthday party for a friend of mine who was bisexual and I wanted her bad but I also knew where she was on our friendship and at this time in her life she was completely into women. I wasn’t the only guy there but almost all of the women at the party were lesbian. As the night went on, the other guys left to hit the bars to see if they could hook up with some women before last call since that wasn’t going to happen here. Eventually, it was just me and five other women and that’s then things got interesting.

We were all doing shots of tequila and one of the women who had dated men in her past started railing on how guys can’t get their heads out of their dicks long enough to think about what a woman wants. I shot back that maybe it was the guys she picked rather than men as a whole and that started a heated argument which ended up in a challenge about who is better at cunnilingus. The birthday girl got to pick who went with whom and she picked herself to be with me. Soon, every body was naked and my friend had her legs wrapped around my head while she sits on the couch with my mouth locked on her clit. I didn’t care if I won or lost. I was just happy to be there and allowed every lustful thought I had about my friend to radiate through my tongue and lips. The woman who challenged me was too busy focusing on me I guess. So when my friend came first, and she came hard, the challenger claimed it wasn’t fair since we knew each other and asked for a rematch with the two remaining women. When the other women got on the couch, I kept my eye on my friend who was both turned on and a little bit jealous. By then end of the night my mouth had been on every woman there and it was a fight not to allow my penis to take over. I ended up with my friend on the couch as the women were on the floor below us in a frenzy of fucking and when she let me inside her, I thought I was going to explode right there but thank the lord I didn’t. My body was beyond peaked but it was worth it in every way. That was all tequila fueled and we were all in our early 20’s so it was all about the experience. Of the four times after that when we had sex only once was there a time when another woman wasn’t around. It was fun while it lasted but she eventually got a serious girlfriend who she ended up being with for 10 years. I’m just glad that we had our moments.

NG: *mouthing hanging open* Holy Batmobile, Kendel! That's by far the best answer I've gotten from that question, thank you. Phew!

Hmm...what's my next question? Ah, yes...what are you reading right now?

KD: I just finished reading Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie, which was just mindless fun. Most of the time I’m reading for research so it was nice to just relax and know that this was going to be a fun ride of insanity.

NG: *wondering what books are considered 'research'* Do you have an e-reader? If so, tell me whether it was easy or difficult to adjust to reading digital books. Do you prefer paperbacks?

KD: I don’t have an e-reader as of yet. It’s strange that Kendel doesn’t have a Kindle but I made a deal with myself that I have to sell enough books to buy one. That way I keep writing and have a reward for myself at the end. I do prefer paperbacks. There is something about the experience of opening a book, that new book smell, the feeling of the pages under your fingers, folding back a page or using a bookmark to hold your place that I miss when reading e-books. However, once I get an e-reader that might all change.

NG: I felt the same way and I still love paperback books for those reasons, but I'm in love with my Nook too!

Okay, so you’ve been captured and your captor tells you to choose either your MP3 player or your e-reader...which one would you choose? :)

KD: I’d have to say my mp3 player. I love reading but I love music more. I’ve got almost two months worth of audio files that I could play continuously with repeating a track and most of that is classic jazz. Miles, Coltrane, Dizzy, Bird, Monk, Mingus, Ella, Sarah, Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima… There is something about jazz that lends itself to my writing. The sounds tell a story to me always so if I could have my mp3 player stocked with all my jazz I could create all the stories in my head that I wanted.

NG: Nice! I love classic jazz...jazz period. Tell me, what do you think is the biggest misconception about males writing in this genre?

KD: I think it’s that we do it because of something that we’re lacking in our relationships. With the few people who know I do this, the first question is why? They’ve seen or read my other writing and wonder what’s wrong with me to go in the direction of writing erotica. I’m a storyteller and I love to tell stories so if that story is about people having sex, it’s still a worthwhile story. I’m not trying to make up for something I’m not getting. I’m writing about people who have wants and needs, just like any other thing I write so the fact that the drive to get them together is sexual doesn’t change what my stories are really about.

Also, being an African American male, I get all sorts of strange questions. If I have a character in my story that’s African American and he enjoys ass play, that doesn’t mean he’s gay. It just means he enjoyed the pleasures of anal stimulation and even if he is gay, so what? That also doesn’t mean I’m gay either and even if I was so what. I’ve been lucky to have friends of all sexual orientations who have blessed me with showing me aspects of their lives that I wouldn’t have access to in such emotional detail without them. You can read all you want to about the struggles of someone who is transgender but having a friend you witnessed go through the transformation gives you a completely different look into that world.

NG: What genre(s) do you write and why?

KD: I love writing interracial group sex stories mainly because of the challenge of them. For me each character’s need, whether it be emotional or sexual has to be motivated so having to deal with more than just two people is always fun to do. Also, you have to try to negotiate which character is going to get the least amount of attention in a group story. That’s the character for me who usually gets the best of it on the tail in of the story. I also write lesbian erotica and romance. My short story Tongue Tied won second place in the 1st Annual Short Story Competition. I was the only guy in the top three and that was a joy. However, I’m expanding and trying new things. I’m currently working on two short story collections, one which is focused on Dark Skinned African American women. I just finished writing my first interracial FemDom story for that one which was a hard fought story because of how I set it up. I have a few m/m stories that I’m going to edit over the summer. I don’t know what I’m going to do with them yet but I had fun writing them. I’ve even tried my hand at a few paranormal stories. I guess I’m still trying to find my niche so why not try a little bit of every genre and see what sticks. The only thing that I know is a constant in my work is my focus on ethnic and sexual diversity. I’m up to try anything on the page.

NG: Why are you drawn to writing erotic romance?

KD: The freedom, plain and simple. I write in several different formats and it’s nice just to write the story as you see fit. I don’t have to worry about some producer saying my story won’t work because of the ethnicity of my protagonist or that certain ethnic groups don’t do the things that I write about. Each time I sit down in front of a producer out here to discuss my work I’m never surprised by the blatant racial stereotypes that come out of their mouths, which they think are okay to express because they have the money. Not having to deal with that is so liberating. Erotic romance is a gift to any writer who wants that freedom, or at least it is to me.

NG: I agree, it is a gift. Do the people in your life know about your writing? Are they supportive?

KD: Not too many. My girlfriend does and she is supportive in the way I need her to be by giving me the time to write. That’s the best support any writer can have. I’ve been writing for a long time in other formats so she’s used to me being in my room on my computer typing away but when somebody respects you enough to give you the time to do what you need to do is the best type of support. It’s the idea of I might not like what you do but I respect your right to do it. The fact that I’ve been published and I’ve made a little money doing it helps. I love her and the fact that she doesn’t create obstacles on purpose is a wonderful thing. Also, I’m still writing in my other formats as well, so writing erotica is just a new color on my writing palate.

NG: That kind of support does make all the difference! What advice would you give other male authors about writing erotic romance from a female character's POV?

KD: Well, first you have to have a love and respect for women as a whole. However, the one thing that helps me is understanding the personal politics of penetration. When I first starting writing erotica it was very male oriented. Even my female character felt like men with vaginas. Then I started thinking about the women that I have known over the years everything switched. What I mean by the personal politics of penetration is that the act itself requires a different skill set when it comes to sensations and that carries weight for your characters on an emotional level. How a woman enjoys being penetrated should link to who she is as a character. You have to think about why does she like this in this way.

Technically, a writer should do this for all their characters but for a male writer wanting to write from a female character’s POV, you can’t ignore it. For some men, who have never been penetrated, it’s difficult to understand. I’m not saying that writing female characters in erotica are all about penetration but understanding the act will take you a long way. For instance, I’ve been in several situations where I’ve been in a group of women talking about sex. What they like, what they don’t like, why they like it… And in each of those situations, I found it eye opening to hear who likes what based on their personality. Also, the insight was incredible because rarely will guys have a chance to be a fly on the wall when women are having an open and honest discussion about sex. Most of the time, I would get involved when I was asked why do guys think we like stuff like (fill in the blank) but what I learned was priceless. The most powerful erogenous zone is the mind and once that is stimulated it opens up a world of places you can go. For example, rarely during these previously mentioned conversations does the issue of a man’s length come up however girth is always key yet when I read erotica by male writers who use female characters as leads there is always a focus on how long the cock is during the sex scenes.

Let’s not even mention what happens when it’s the female character who is doing the penetrating. The build up to the sexual act needs to be apparent in who the character is and if you don’t know that before you get to that moment in the story, you’ve done yourself a disservice. When you have to accept another person inside of your body, it changes the point of reference. I’m not advocating that a male writer needs to have a good pegging in order to write female characters but it can’t hurt. Hey, you just might find something that you like. I’ve always felt more comfortable hanging out with a group of women than being around a group of men most of my life so I guess my writing is more of a reflection of that more than anything else.

NG: Great advice, Kendel! I love your willingness to listen to women and hear what they are saying.

Okay, let's talk about your writing. Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?

KD: I guess from my previous answers you can tell that I’m a careful plotter for the most part. I like doing detailed character bios and mapping out the story in specific moments leading to the end. I’m not that way all the time but when I map out my story I usually have no problem getting go the end in a short amount of time. For me, I love to map out the emotional journey of the story first and then apply the scenes to the emotions.

NG: How many hours a day do you try to commit to your manuscript?

KD: I try to focus more on word count than hours because there is no telling what could happen during the time I set aside to write and when a phone call could come in that takes that time away. I try to do a minimum of 2000 words a day on just erotic writing so even if I have a distraction, I know how many words I need to do before I allow myself to go to bed.

NG: What’s your biggest distraction from focusing on your writing?

KD: Probably time management. I usually have a lot on my plate and some things take a lot longer to do than others and when they do I have a tendency to panic and then everything suffers.

NG: What are you working on for 2012?

KD: I was planning to attack that first novel this year but instead, I started working on a few short story collections and a novella. Right now, I have two short story collections that I’m working on. One about erotic encounters that happen in and around airports and the other being a collection of short stories about dark skinned African American women. I’m writing those at the same time so when I finish a story in one of the collections I move to a story in the other. I hope to have the rough drafts done by the end of August. I also finished the rough draft my first novella last month that I have to edit and refocus which I plan to have finished by the end of July.

NG: You've got a full creative plate, Kendel! Let's talk about your latest release Eden’s View.

KD: Yes. It’s a story that I wrote for a specific contest that wasn’t picked because the editor said it was too sensual for their tastes so I rewrote it for myself and self published it.

NG: What’s Eden’s View about?

KD: It’s about a jazz music manager who is moved from New York to Los Angeles by his company to scope new talent for their West Coast branch. He gets this incredible apartment on the top floor of this building over looking the ocean and across from him lives a woman who is a dancer. Because his body is still on East Coast time he wakes up early and watches her in the mornings. Eventually they meet in the elevator which build into this intense need to be with each other which sparks an intense evening of erotic pleasure during a blackout in their apartment building after one of Eden’s dance performances.

NG: Oooo...I love the premise of the story! What inspired you to pen this tale?

KD: Well, most of the stories that I had out so far had been interracial group or lesbian stories and I wanted to write a story about an African American couple falling for each other which builds to a night of hot sex that lends itself of a relationship. It was a challenge I made to myself to write something with more of a romantic slant to it. Plus, since I love jazz and I’ve dated dancers in the past, it was fun to explore that world again. Also, writing this story from a male POV was a nice since I hadn’t done that in a while.

NG: Give me three reasons readers will love Eden’s View.

KD: I have to say the romantic elements really make the intensity of the sex at the end worthwhile. Second, there is a very nice twist that happens which is unexpected yet makes it complete since it happens right as things hit their apex. Last, the beauty of black love in on full display on both the emotional and erotic side.

NG: Oooo! Eden's View sounds like a fabulous read! What's the one thing readers can always count on when picking up one of your books?

KD: Character motivated kink. That’s how my writing was described in one of the fan letters I got and it’s something that I strive to do in my stories. If I’m going to take you on a ride, then my characters are going to lead you down that path where you understand why they are doing the things they love to do to themselves and others.

NG: Character motivated it! Kendel, thank you so much for coming on Simply Sexy Stories, best wishes for all your endeavors in 2012!

KD: Thank you Nichelle. I’ve had a blast doing this.
Blurb: Davis, a young African-American jazz manager becomes entranced with Eden, a modern dancer that lives in the apartment on the other side of his balcony. His early morning voyeurism turns into a torrid rendezvous after Eden invites him to special performance and tops off the night by giving him a closer view of what’s really inside her apartment.

Caution! Super Sexy Excerpt Below:

“I can’t thank you enough. My ex was such a shit when it came to doing things like this for me.”

She said “ex.” That can be a sign or a trap. The only thing it lets me know is that she’s single.

“Hey, that’s what friends do.”

She responds with another inviting smile that lights up the elevator cab. Is it a tease to see how I will react? Before I get a chance the lights go out, forcing the elevator to a screeching halt.

“What the hell?”

The panic in her voice is unsettling. I reach through the darkness and search for her hand.

“We’re gonna be okay.”

She places a death grip on my hand and crawls into me. The darkness is all encompassing. This black hole has swallowed us both with the only consolation being the warmth of our bodies. My own nerves start to fray but I can’t let her know that. All I could do is let her squeeze me as I gently run my hand through her soft tufts of hair.

“Let me call to see what’s going on,” I say in a calm voice altering her to my next movements. As I reach for my phone she loosens her grip and I dial 911.

“What did they say?”

“It’s a blackout. Most of Santa Monica was affected.”

“Are they on their way?”

There is nothing they can do unless this is an emergency. Even though the panic of being trapped in the dark between floors is scary, it didn’t warrant them coming to our rescue. I feel helpless. Eden can feel it too and she reaches up and strokes the side of my face.

“The power will come back on eventually, right?”

The easy tone in her voice melts into me as she sinks her head into my chest. I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her closer to me. She takes a deep breath and slowly exhales. The warmth of her breath penetrates through my shirt and electrifies my senses. The tingle of arousal radiates in my stomach as I shift my focus to fighting off my oncoming erection. She takes another breath and slides her hand to the back of my neck. I tilt my head towards hers; my metered breath blows through her hair. She exhales again, sending a rush of air around my neck. The scent of red wine she had at the theater floats to my nostrils. I drink it in, surrounded by this pit of darkness, and find her pulling my head towards her. Is she pulling me in for comfort or desire? Not being able to see her eyes left me no choice but to trust my senses. I find my lips barely touching hers. Short, sharp breaths jut into my open mouth, a brief pause to allow us to mutually agree to cross this imaginary line. Eden traces the inside of my lips with her tongue and pulls me in for a kiss. The slow approach only adds to the rush of sensations that flood through us in the dark.

Her hips rub against my erection in perfect rhythm with her tongue. The sounds of mouths kissing and clothes rustling fill the vacuous elevator cab. The rings on her fingers clinked against my belt buckle. I place my left hand under her shirt and caress her smooth skin that covers her taught abs like Braille. She unbuttons my pants and ejects my cock from its prison. I move my hand from underneath her shirt and down the front of her pants. I stop with my fingers inches away from her clit. With a trail of slow wet kisses from my mouth to my ear she whispers, “Touch it.”

I slowly stroke the hood of her clit as she bites down on my ear. I move my finger to the base of her dripping hole to moisten my finger. She lets go of my ear and releases a deep guttural moan and in a barely audible whisper she commands me to pull her hair.

“You heard me.”

I gently grab a handful of her soft wool and give it a tug.

I yank and she squeals a stream of pleasant profanities as she grinds on my hand. I keep my thumb on her clit and place two fingers into her tight, wet pussy. She moans with curious delight as she grips my fingers from inside and sucks me in. The twitches of her pussy around my fingers announce her furious orgasm. She bites my lip to mask her screams and releases herself upon me. I place my fingers in my mouth and I drink her salty sweet nectar from them. Its tanginess tickles the back of my throat. I’m lost in her taste and get snapped out of my trance by her wet tongue on the head of my cock. The sound of Eden wetting her lips pushes me to the brink. I grab her hair, begging for her to take all of it in. She slurps on the head as she strokes my balls then takes me deep in an ocean of warm, wet saliva. I hold my breath in an attempt to delay my explosion when the lights came on and the elevator starts to move. Her face is a sweaty mess with my cock in her mouth and her fingers deep inside herself. She looks up at me, filled with excitement and embarrassment before she removes her mouth from my swollen fiend with a “pop” and quickly gets dressed.

A Little Game by Nichelle Gregory

“I win.” She lifted her chin up at him with a triumphant smile.

“Don’t you move. Time’s not up, sweetheart.”

His devilish grin incensed her. She stole a glance at the women enjoying their afternoon coffee a bench away.

“C’mon. I’m tired of playing these games.”

“No you’re not. I bet those panties are soaked, yes?”

Her gaze drifted down from his handsome face to the unmistakable bulge in his trousers.

“Liar. Should I check right now?”

Her eyes widened as he squatted in front of her.

“Fair enough. You’ve got a minute left. Whatever you do…don’t drop that ice cream.”

Movie Night by Nichelle Gregory

"You know I don't like scary movies."

His gaze drifted over her body as she turned away from the screen with small huff to glare at him.

"You did say I could choose tonight."

"Yes, but-"

"Either we watch this movie or we make our own."

The fire in her eyes made him rock hard. "Well? You decide. We both know you're gonna scream regardless."
