NG: Welcome to Fast Five with Wendi Zwaduk! Hey, Wendi!
WZ: Hi Nichelle! I’m so glad to be here. Always a good time when I get to blog with you!
NG: Likewise! I'm excited to hear about Someone Like You, what's this sexy story all about?
WZ: Mindy and Arran have a storied history, but this is where everything started. College, the crazy, hazy days where they get to find out what they really want. Add in the need for a little exploration, a little play with toys and $20 grand needed for a house and you’ve got Arran and Mindy’s beginning.
NG: Why did you want to write this story?
WZ: It’s funny. I took a LOT of heat when Tangled Up came out. Readers wanted to know what got Mindy and Arran together. Many of them said the threesome in TU would make more sense if they knew the back story. I hadn’t planned on writing a prequel, but I had to give the readers what they wanted. And yes, I was listening to a lot of Adele and she sang the words in Mindy’s soul. If you read TU, then you know how Arran and Mindy’s relationship ends up. So the more I wrote in SLY, the more I could hear her saying, yeah, that’s my song. I had to use it as the title.
NG: Love Adele! What do you think readers will love about this tale?
WZ: If you loved the complication in Tangled Up, then you’ll love seeing the genesis of it in Someone Like You. Arran comes across as a very laid back guy, but you get to see just how complicated his life really is. I don’t know if people will love Mindy, but you get to see what she’s all about. She’s a good hearted person who wants to make Arran happy. I’d say she’s a little mousy, but she loves him nonetheless.
NG: If you had to pick a favorite line from the book what would it be and why?
WZ: “I’m loving every minute of loving you and if it means toys, then I’m game to play.”
Arran is a gay man so for him, being with a girl is completely foreign. He’s coming to realize maybe what he thought isn’t what’s what. Mindy, though she’s never been with a bisexual man, isn’t shy about giving him what he needs. I love the honesty in the line. It shows how much they care about each other even when there are those around them saying their relationship shouldn’t work.
NG: Interesting premise! What can readers look forward to next from Wendi Zwaduk?
WZ: Well...hmm... as I send this in, I’ve just turned in a short about a returning Vietnam vet. Will it go over? I dunno. I felt compelled to write it when the character of Noel jumped into my head. He’s very stoic, but since coming home from the war, he’s also got a sense of ‘screw it. Life happens too fast to not take the chance. I loved him and hope the powers that be do, too.
I've also got the Heart Attack one coming out in Feburary and then a Lust Bite at the end of Feb.
NG: Busy lady! Thank you so much for stopping by, Wendi! I wish you all the best with this release!
WZ: Sure! Here you go! And thanks Nichelle for having me!!!
NG: Always a pleasure, Wendi!
Mindy cocked her head. She scooted forward on the bed and the smile returned to her lips. “I’m sure you know all about this.” With deft fingers, she unbuttoned his jeans. “You don’t know how many times I stared at you in class and wondered what it would be like to know you.” She slipped down onto her knees. “I fantasised about what you tasted like.” She hooked her fingers into his waistband. His cock bobbed against her cheek. Instead of shying away, she fixed her gaze on his and licked along the thick vein.
“Mindy.” He thrust his fingers into her hair and his pants pooled at his feet. “Oh, God.”
Giggling, she took him deep into her mouth. Arran wobbled and his knees went week. The orgasm built low in his belly and swirled around. He wouldn’t last. She cupped his balls, pushing him closer to climax.
His body vibrated and his vision blurred. So close.
Mindy scraped her teeth along his cock. She sat back on her heels and stared at him.
Arran blinked. She stopped. Freaking stopped. His muddled brain cleared as the smile on her lips widened. She wanted to toy with him? Two could play the game.
He grabbed a condom from his bureau. “How much do you want me?”
As she stood, Mindy dragged her shorts and panties past her hips. She took the packet from his hands and unrolled the condom over his shaft. “This much.”
God, yes. Arran grasped her hips and fell onto the bed. In one move, he pushed into her body. Her cream slickened the joining. He’d planned on their first time being a little more…graceful. Too late for grace. Arran moaned. He still had his blasted pants around his ankles and his shirt on. Christ.
Mindy shoved her hands up under his shirt. She dug her nails into his back and arched beneath him. “Harder.” She writhed and matched his thrusts with her own. “God, so close. So…fucking close.”
Someone Like You is available now with Total E-Bound!
I always dreamed of writing the stories in my head. Tall, dark, and handsome heroes are my favorites, as long as he has an independent woman keeping him in line. I tend to write books with titles taken from songs because music is one of my many muses.
I earned a BA in education and as well as a Masters in Education. I've tried my hand at teaching, waitressing, and retail sales, but writing holds my heart.
I love NASCAR, romance, books in general, farmland, dirt racing, and my menagerie of animals. I books under contract with Total-E-Bound, Liquid Silver Books, and the Wild Rose Press. But then again, I've got more stories percolating than my brain can handle. I can't wait to share them with you!
This Sunday's hot kiss is taken from Lovin' Leela, my first release with Total E-Bound and one of my personal fave stories to write!
Enjoy and have a great week! ~Nichelle
“I brought you something.” Sam held out the small gift.
“What’s this?” Leela took the box from him.
She looked up at him. “You didn’t!”
“I did. And for the record, when I say something, I’m always serious unless I say otherwise.”
She watched him shove his hands into his pockets, tightening the pull of fabric across the zipper of his pants. Zings of awareness skitter along her spine. “Well, thank you. This was so thoughtful. Would you like to come in and have a slice with me?”
Sam grinned, making the dimples dip deep on his handsome face. “I’m not into banana bread, but I would like to come in, yes.”
Her stomach somersaulted as they stared at one another for a few seconds. The strap on her dress slipped again, and this time Sam’s eyes slid to her bare shoulder. Leela swallowed, surprised again by the wave of desire rushing over her. He was being flirtatious and her response now would set the tone between them.
“Leela?” Sam asked. “Second guessing your initial desire?”
Could he sense the sudden wild craving she had for him?
She squeezed the box of banana bread and released a slow breath. “Look, Sam, I really do appreciate the banana bread but I…” Her voice faltered as his fingers brushed her skin to pull the loose strap back into place.
“You’re afraid,” he finished, placing one hand on the side of her door.
He was gorgeous and arrogant!
She snorted. “Afraid? What are you talking about? I don’t even know you. That’s the point.” Leela folded her arms across her chest, looking around him to see another neighbour coming towards them.
Sam nodded slowly, then shook his head. “But we’re not strangers, Leela. You’ve been in my home, we’ve shared my amazing pasta and a bottle of wine. So, that’s not what you’re afraid of.” He stated calmly.
“So, what am I afraid of?” she asked staring into the warm coffee depths of his eyes. A split second before he reached for her, Leela knew he would show her what she feared.
She sucked in a breath as he claimed her lips in a kiss. He laced his fingers in her hair, wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him. Leela was in shock for a nanosecond before she began to respond, opening her mouth and offering him her tongue. She was vaguely aware of him moving them back into her condo, the door closing silently with a click as he pushed her up against the wall and deepened the kiss.
The box of bread fell to the ground as her nipples peaked and strained against the soft cotton of her sundress. She moaned as he pressed his leg against her pussy, teasing her need, increasing the heat and wetness between her thighs. Longing and confusion battled for top spot in her chaotic thoughts and longing won as he continued to stroke her tongue with his hard body pressed against her.
He pulled away with his hands still in her hair, forcing her to meet his eyes. “That’s what you’re afraid of, Leela, but you don’t have to be.”
She shook her head. “This is crazy. I-I don’t do things like this—” Her explanation was cut short as he kissed her again.
“Like what?” he asked against her mouth. “Kissing your neighbour?” He pulled back, holding her gaze. “I wanted you the moment I opened the door and saw you, and I know I saw the same desire mirrored in your eyes.” He traced a line with his finger along the swell of her bottom lip. “Tell me you don’t want me and I’ll go."
NG: I’m welcoming Avril Ashton on Simply Sexy Stories! Hi, Avril! Happy New Year!
AA: Thank you for hosting me, Nichelle, and Happy New Year!
NG: Did you make any New Year’s resolutions?
AA: Not really. I never keep them, but I did promise myself to write more and read less. Dunno how that’s going to work.
NG: That's a good resolution! What are you reading right now?
AA: Nothing. A crying shame cause if I had my way I’d be reading all day, every day. But it would leave no time to write so I’ve taken to bribing myself: finish this or that WIP and then you can read.
NG: LOL I like your self-imposed blackmail tactics. Care to share some of your favorite authors?
AA: My faves are way too much to name, but I’ll try. I absolutely love Kresley Cole, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Francis Ray, Kimberly Kaye Terry. Any and all authors who write great stories with awesome characters.
NG: I love to read all those authors too! Winter is here! Do you enjoy the snow?
AA: I love snow. Hate the cold. I’m from the Caribbean and my blood hasn’t thickened yet. The perfect winter day is when I’m inside watching the snow through the window. LOL
NG: Which would you rather drink to warm up...hot chocolate or hot toddy?
AA: Hot toddy. I like my spirits…heh
NG: :) Okay, let's talk about your writing. What genre(s) do you write and why?
AA: Under the Erotic Romance genre I write interracial, paranormal and M/M.
NG: What draws you to erotic romantic novels?
AA: The sex! LOL Nah, I like the openness of it all. I like that I can experience all aspects of a couple falling in love, including that trip to the bedroom where it all hangs out. All the dirty and nasty stuff.
NG: Mmm hmmm! Is there any particular word or thing in erotic romance novels that you dislike as a reader?
AA: If your book is labeled an erotic romance, I expect the erotic. Nothing irks me more than the bedroom door slamming in my face, or a tension-filled buildup that doesn’t follow through. If you’re writing erotic, bring it already. I dislike head-hopping every two sentences and I don’t like first person stuff, or anything that keeps me inside the head of only one of the MCs. Also, no euphemisms for body parts, hmm? Let’s call them what they are.
NG: Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?
AA: Laid back pantser. I can’t plot to save my life. My characters take over and do as they please and I just enjoy the ride ;-)
NG: Has your writing process changed since your first book was published?
AA: I think so. I’m much more aware of the editing side of things than I was with my first book. That manuscript was a mess, but I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t and I write much cleaner and tighter now.
NG: What are you working on for 2012?
AA: I’m working on the final book in my Wicked series with eXtasy book, Wicked Is His Touch. No release date yet. Plus there are at least two more books in the PSC series for Total E-Bound and the eagerly awaited story of Jayce and Wes from Make Me Sweat. In between all those are the many stories clamoring for release in my crowded mind.
NG: I know the feeling! Let's talk about your latest release Till Abandon, book one in the paranormal security council series. What's this sizzling story about?
AA: Till Abandon is my first attempt at the shifter/paranormal sub-genre. As with each of my books, I try to push beyond my boundaries with Till Abandon and it’s the story of a female assassin finally giving in to the wolf she’s been running from. Her mate.
NG: What inspired you to pen this sexy tale?
AA: I had a sort of vision of this woman with white-blonde hair slitting a man’s throat. She popped out of nowhere and I had to know more. Why did she kill him? Who is she and what brought her to that particular act?
NG: What's the one thing readers can always count on when picking up one of your books?
AA: Readers can count on my characters to be in the most impossible situations. They can also count on me to bring the heat and keep it dirty, sex-wise. There’s always a heroine guaranteed to kick bootay and a hella-sexy hero all set to make you drool.
NG: Give me three reasons readers will love Till Abandon.
AA: 1. Voltaire, my heroine, is all swagged out. I say she’s gangsta with hers. 2. There’s some bedroom actions in there that none of my other books have—yet and 3. There are shifters all up and through that there novella and we do love us some shifters ;-)
NG: Yes we do! Thank you so much for coming on Simply Sexy Stories, Avril, best wishes for all your endeavors in 2012!
AA: Thank you and right back at ya!
Blurb: All the power and killer instinct she possesses can’t protect her from the claiming of one determined wolf.
They call her ‘The woman in white,’ whisper ‘Death-Bringer’ with their last breath, but no one knows exactly what she is. Not even Voltaire herself. The deadly magic within her is a living thing, able to crush anyone and everything with a blink. Abandoning the blood-soaked world she’s used to, Voltaire seeks out the one constant in her tired life—the green-eyed wolf in her dreams. She’s ignored the wolf’s call for years, afraid to surrender, but danger haunts her mate. He needs her.
Wolf-shifter Blake Montez is in the middle of a war, battling the usurpers intent on taking over his territory. Unfamiliar magic hums in the air, unnoticed—it seems—by everyone but him. He finds the source already under his nose, in his home. The delicate woman in white knows things no one should know, and the heat simmering between them is unlike anything he’s ever felt. His wolf recognizes her as his mate, though Blake remains unsure he can trust her.
Voltaire sets out to prove herself with time running out, enemies are on the prowl, some foreseen, others remain cloaked in shadow. She and Blake team up, fighting side by side, but in the end Voltaire might be the biggest threat to their love.
Caution! Super Sexy Excerpt Below:
In his apartment over Montez’ bar, Blake Montez lay on his bed, chewing on a toothpick, eyes closed. A psychic disturbance hovered in the air, charged with magic he’d never experienced before. It’d been two days since he’d first felt the soft ripples on his skin, and now it grew stronger, more insistent.
The other half of him, his wolf, clawed to get out, but Blake ignored the need for the moment. While strange and very powerful, the magic didn’t appear malevolent. These powers didn’t come from the cats trying to stake a claim to his territory. Czion, the jaguar leader, didn’t have access to the kind of power Blake felt in the air. Still, he should warn his pack to be wary, to be on the lookout for any strange goings-on. As Alpha, it was his duty to protect them and if this thing posed a threat, they needed to be prepared.
He rose off the bed, pulling on a pair of sweat pants and the black T-shirt he’d discarded earlier. A few of his guys remained downstairs, playing pool and hanging out. He’d tell them his suspicions and ask them to spread the word. Then he’d go for a run. His wolf itched to come out and play tonight.
Halfway down the stairs, he stopped. The unfamiliar magic seemed concentrated in the room below, the bar. He took his time descending the stairs, using his wolf senses to scent out the source. He found it—or rather her—at the bar.
“Marcus, get everyone out now.” Speaking to his beta and best friend, Blake kept his eyes on the woman. She sat with her back to him, dressed to match the snow white of her hair.
“What’s going on, Blake?” Bent over a pool table in the corner, cue in hand, Marcus didn’t sound the least bit disturbed.
“Don’t you feel the ripples in the air?” Blake struggled to quiet the growls rumbling in his throat. The wolf grew ever more restless. His skin tightened and sweat beaded on his forehead as he fought with his wolf for control.
“What ripples? What are you talking about?” Marcus straightened with the pool cue on his shoulder.
God damn, am I the only one feeling the interference?
“Get everybody out. Now.”
Blake approached the bar as Marcus ushered the few confused patrons outside. His friend tossed him a quizzical look and stopped next to the woman.
“What the hell is going on, B?”
“Just get outside.”
Marcus exited the bar with a shake of his head, closing the door behind him. Blake took a deep breath and strode across to the woman in white.
“You didn’t have to make them leave on my account.” She swung around on the stool to face him.
Blake’s breath seized; his wolf roared. His cock, neglected for longer than necessary, stirred. Her smooth skin glowed the palest ivory, making her appear fragile and untouchable. Bone straight, white hair fell to her waist, getting lost in the white of her tight blouse, distressed jeans and floor length coat. The killer heels on her feet were an obscene red, matching her lips.
I can hear your wolf, she whispered in his head. Why do you suppose he’s fighting so hard to get out?
Blake flinched and stared into her mismatched eyes, feeling like he was floating. He tried getting into her thoughts but came up against a black wall.
That’s right. I can read your mind, but alas, she sighed dramatically, you can’t fuck with mine.
He closed the gap between them on unsteady legs, hands at his sides, heart hammering in his chest. His sweaty skin tightened painfully as the wolf clawed under his skin.
“Who are you?”
“Who do you want me to be, Blake?” Sex dripped from her low voice. Husky and silky-smooth. She posed a threat to him, to his wolf, to—
Now, now. A threat? Li’l ole me? She winked her right eye, the gold one. The left eye sparked a vibrant, violet hue.
“What are you?” Standing next to her with his teeth clenched, Blake couldn’t decide whether to grab her and spread her legs across the bar, or shoot her between those weird, gorgeous eyes.
“Um.” She licked her lips. “I vote for the first option.” He narrowed his eyes and she shrugged. “Just saying.”
“Strange magic surrounds you,” he rasped. “And you bring it here, to my pack.”
“Well, if you want to get technical, the strange magic doesn’t surround me so much as it lives in me.”
Blake reached a hand out, but snatched it back at the last second. “Get out now before I kill you.” He couldn’t have her here, distracting him with her strange pull and her particular brand of magic.
She laughed. Invisible arms wrapped around his waist and jerked him forward. To her.
“There are many reasons you can’t kill me, but let’s start with the one you refuse to acknowledge.” Rising off the stool, she leaned over and dragged her tongue down his neck.
His wolf erupted, awakened further by her touch. His cock, aroused before, hardened to painful proportions. Blake growled and grabbed her by the neck. She stared at him with her lips curved, those eyes twinkling.
The name’s Voltaire, but what do you call me, Blake?
He tightened his fingers around her neck. Her strange-ass pupils dilated. The wolf scented her arousal and went crazy, ready to mark. To claim.
Say it, Blake.
His eyesight dimmed as the wolf grew stronger, his other half already accepting what he fought to deny. Blake jerked her to him, speaking the word before his mouth descended on hers.
Till Abandon is available now with Total E-Bound Publishing, Amazon and ARe!
NG: Welcome to Fast Five with Sam Crescent! Hey, Sam!
SC: Hiya, Nichelle. Thank you so much for having me back again.
NG: My pleasure! Tell me what The Valentines: Robert is all about?
SC: Well, Robert, is the first book in my new vampire series. This is the start of learning about the problems happening on Beyer West. The Valentines is a vampire family of four brothers and two sisters. They control Beyer West. The problem is the wolf pack are becoming out of control. When Robert Valentine forms a blood bond with a human female, Sophie, he agrees to protect her best friend Katie.
Let's just say in this book all hell is about to let loose.
NG: Oooo...sounds exciting! Why did you want to write this story?
SC: I have an addiction to vampires. I love all vampire programs and yes I love Twilight as well. I thought to myself to let my imagination spring free and let loose. What I love about Paranormal or vampire tales is there are no rules. You don't have to follow some rigid guidelines and everything can be how you want it to be.
NG: What do you think readers will love about this tale?
SC: I don't have sparkly vampires? lol. I don't know. I loved writing it and I hope that if other people love watching and reading vampires as much as I do, they'll enjoy this book. I for one love reading books as part of series and Robert is the first book within this series. I'm not very good at this am I? lol
NG: You're doing just fine! If you had to pick a favorite line from the book what would it be and why?
SC: “With all due respect, sir, I give my respect only to people who have earned it. And since, by definition, a person is someone who breathes, you don’t qualify.”
I love this line. Sophie my lead character says it. Robert admires her attitude and spunk. This really sets up the story nicely and love it.
NG: What can readers look forward to next from Sam Crescent?
SC: The second story in my vampire series, William, will be out a little later this year and I've also co-authored with a fellow Total-E Bound writer, Natalie Dae. Plenty of stuff coming along at the moment.
NG: How fun! Thank you so much for stopping by, Sam! I wish you all the best with this release!
SC: Thank you as always for having me.
Book one in The Valentines Series
A war is about to begin.
Sophie Ford has a secret. Fear for herself and her friend has her running to the vampire council in search of protection.
And she is bonded to a vampire.
Robert Valentine knows Sophie is hiding something, but what? She tempts him as no little human ever has in his whole life. He is the eldest son of the most powerful family in the world.
Forces they cannot control are fighting against them. Time is running out. Sophie's secret is about to be exposed. Is there time to save the ones they love? Can Robert and Sophie move on and survive the war that is about to begin?
Reader Advisory: This book is the first of a series and contains scenes of violence between werewolves and vampires.
Caution! Tantalizingly Teasing Excerpt Below:
“What do you want from me?” he asked. His voice became husky as the sight of her body had its effect on his own. His cock, which had lain dormant for three years as no woman could arouse him the way Sophie could, awoke with fresh life. He wanted to be inside his mate. The need to take her in the most primitive of ways lay beneath the surface of his skin. Vampires could react on impulse.
William allowed the urge to flow over him but Robert took great pride in maintaining control. He no longer wanted to be in charge of his emotions. What would happen to him and Sophie if he allowed his natural instincts to kick in? He turned his head away so that he no longer stared into her blue eyes. Anything in the world she asked for, he’d willingly give. Cut out his own dead heart, and she could have it within seconds.
“I want the bond to be complete,” she said.
It was the answer he had been expecting—she didn’t know how to ask in any other way. He already knew of her innocence.
Robert took hold of her hands and pulled gently, bringing her closer to him. He could smell how turned on she was. Her light scent invaded his nostrils. The bitter taste of her fear was unwelcome, but he knew that virgins always feared their first time.
He felt her tremble but she remained before him. Her courage should be worshipped.
Robert held her hands, not moving. He looked at her, making sure she kept her eyes on him and only on him. He stroked his thumb over her hand, trying to reassure her.
Using all his willpower, he opened up the connection between them. Her eyes were the key. He forced her to watch him, to trust him. Holding her hands provided the conduit of touch and her eyes gave him the key to her mind.
He hated himself for doing this, but time was of the essence.
“What do you want from me?” Again, the picture of a smiling Katie appeared before his eyes as she spoke.
“To finish the bond.” Her answer came in a dull voice. She was strong. She was fighting his hold on her. Her words seemed practiced.
The Valentine's: Robertis available now with Total E-Bound Publishing!
I'm excited to participate in my very first Sunday Snog!
Mmm....there's nothing like that first kiss, is there?
* * * * *
Zori revels in the control she exerts over the opposite sex; no man has ever challenged her in the bedroom or out...until she meets Greyson.
She's beautiful, intelligent and sometimes deadly to the men who enter her bedroom. For Zori, voracious appetites for sex and food reign supreme. She's never known rejection, romance or love...her life and heart has always been her own.
The moment she sets eyes on Greyson, Zori makes it her quest to have him in her bed, but she's finally met her match. Can two lovers with secrets face the truth and trust their hearts?
* * * * *
His attention was also on the alley, as if he was keeping watch too.
“Would you like to come home with me?”
Greyson slowly turned to stare at her and Zori shivered again, this time from desire. Most guys started talking a mile a minute, shocked by her boldness, yet completely game. She particularly hated the ones who immediately started pawing and trying to kiss her while promising how good they’d make her feel.
Greyson simply held her gaze, his eyes never leaving her face even though she felt like his hands were already on her body.
“My car’s not far from here.”
He’d agreed to go. Now she just had to get him there.
“One kiss before we go?”
Greyson grabbed her and yanked her hard against his body. “Do you know what you’re doing?”
“Are you asking me if I’m sure about kissing you? If so, the answer is yes.”
She pressed her hands against his chest, taking a step back from him as his eyes raked over her entire body.
“Not just the kiss, Zori.”
Heat bloomed deep within her. His gaze was magnetic. He had the most unusual brown eyes she’d ever seen. She’d almost swear his irises had flecks of gold that reflected the street lamp overhead.
“I know exactly what I’m doing.”
Her answer seemed to drive him forward. His lips crushed hers in a hard kiss that melted into a sensual caress. She opened her mouth for him, loving the taste of his tongue as it caressed hers. He kissed as well as he danced.

This kiss is only the beginning of the erotic delights shared between these two!
As You Desire marks my tenth published work! I can't explain the joy of knowing my stories are reaching readers all over the world!
As You Desire is the second book in my Djinn Brotherhood series and although Vander fromAs You Wishwill always remain one of my favorite characters to write, I had a blast telling Rafi and Lona's story. Their love affair is what I'd call a slow burn, but man, oh man is it HOT!
Enjoy an exclusive sneak peek from the first chapter below...
Rafi bit back a curse as he waited for his current master, Lacey, to make her final wish. He heard her stunned gasp from her bedroom and stifled a yawn as she rushed back into the living room dressed in a denim mini-skirt and a tight pink T-shirt that clung to her breasts.
She swivelled in the mirror, admiring her new slim, stacked body. “Look at me! I haven’t had this skirt on since…well, never. I can’t believe it—I’m freaking hawt now!”
Rafi cringed as she let out another squeal of delight.
“Omigoodness…look at my butt. Do you see it?”
He didn’t bother responding as Lacey continued to gush over her new curves.
“You still have one wish left to use.”
Lacey giggled with excitement, twirling like a ballerina in front of the mirror.
“It’s so hard to decide. I still can’t believe this happened to me!”
These were the moments he hated being a Djinn. He was so tired of fulfilling empty, mundane, utterly typical wishes.
C’mon, lady, I don’t have all day.
He blew out a breath, frustrated with everything. It would be so easy to help her make a decision. All he’d have to do was give her a gentle mental push and use the unique ability he’d been born with to project his thought into Lacey’s mind.
Too bad it was strictly forbidden behaviour for any Djinn capable of the gift within the Brotherhood.
Wishes were to be made freely. The reality was he actually did have all day, all month…hell, all year if that was how long Lacey decided to take to utter her last request.
Lacey glanced away from her reflection to cast a quick look at him through the mirror. “What’s the matter, gorgeous? Am I taking too long for you?”
The smile he gave her spiked the intensity of the headache thumping against his skull.
“Time is of no consequence for me.”
Rafi crossed his arms, wishing Lacey lived in the tropics instead of this godforsaken frozen farmhouse located in the middle of nowhere.
“Maybe that’s it…I could wish to live forever, like you.”
“Trust me—living forever isn’t as great as it sounds.”
A stab of pain hit his heart and Rafi steeled himself as it travelled down the length of his body.
How long had it been since he’d allowed himself to feel that heartache?
He blinked, trying to erase images of smiling grey eyes, silky chestnut hair and—
“I can come to you later. Give you some time to make your final decision.”
Lacey turned her face away from the mirror and glanced at the stacks of cash covering her coffee table before looking at him.
“Wait. I know what I want.”
Rafi nodded his head, ready to deliver and split. He couldn’t wait to get home after a week in the icy tundra.
“You’ve been very good to me, Rafi.” Lacey walked over to him, running her eyes over his body.
Oh, hell, here we go.
“That’s my job as your Djinn.”
Lacey lifted her gaze from his chest to meet his eyes. “You’re a dream come true, and I’m not just talking about the wishes.”
“I’m glad you’re satisfied.”
Wrong choice of words.
He could practically feel the sexual hunger emanating from Lacey. She had no doubt been starved of male attention, her locale and extra body weight hindering her dating activities big time.
“I’d like to be.” Lacey gave him a hesitant smile as she smoothed her hands down her denim skirt.
Perhaps if he played clueless she’d lose her nerve.
Lacey reached up and touched his shoulder.
“I’d like to be satisfied by you.”
She blushed, obviously unaccustomed to making brazen demands.
If he wasn’t in such a foul mood he might’ve acted on her bashful come-on.
“Is that your final wish?”
“Could it be?”
Not exactly the truth, but she wasn’t privy to the by-laws of the Djinn Brotherhood.

DC: I'm re-reading The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G. Wells for about the hundredth time.
NG: Oooo...great book! Care to share some of your favorite authors?
DC: You're just trying to get a guy in trouble! ::grins::
NG: I wouldn't do that! ;-)
DC: I don't talk about my favorite m/m authors. But as far as mainstream, I like H.G. Wells, RA Salvatore, and Richard Knaak.
NG: Nice! Winter is here! Do you enjoy the snow?
DC: I do not! LOL I have a lot of joint issues and horrendous arthritis, and the snow makes me grouchier than I should be. Also, I've got SAD, so the winter months aren't my favorite.
NG: Which would you rather drink to warm up...hot chocolate or hot toddy?
DC: My preference would be a hot toddy, but sadly I'm no longer allowed to have alcohol. But it's all good - I like hot chocolate, too!
NG: So do I! Okay, let's talk about your writing. What genre(s) do you write and why?
DC: I mainly write contemporary and fantasy. Why? I don't have to do as much research. I hate research.
NG: It is time consuming. What draws you to erotic romantic novels?
DC: Quite simply, I like writing and reading about sex.
NG: LOL...your direct, I like that! Is there any particular word or thing in erotic romance novels that you dislike as a reader?
DC: Man tits. Man cunt. Man pussy. All those man-"female body part" words. UGH. Men have nipples, penises, and asses. Just use those words. Seriously - anything else is really unsexy!
NG: Well said! Reading man cunt within a story would definitely turn me off.
Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?
DC: I'm definitely not a plotter. I write things down as they come to me, and piece them together later on.
NG: Has your writing process changed since your first book was published?
DC: About the only thing I do differently is I don't send every story to a beta reader anymore. I'm more confident in my writing and what my editor wants.
NG: Isnt' that a beautiful feeling? What are you working on for 2012?
DC: I've got 24 WIPs going on right now. I'm working with mostly new characters, but Jack and Alan fans will be happy to know there's another book in the works featuring them, and Vance, Raine, and Andrew fans are finally getting the book they wanted - the one that tells how the sexy trio got together.
NG: 24 WIP's??!! Wowzers! That's wild, DC! Well, let's talk about your latest release, Betrayed. In five sentences or less, share what Betrayed is about.
DC: 5 sentences or less??? Sheesh. You make a boy work for it, don't you? Um…okay, here goes: Betrayed is about love - how it endures, what it can encompass, what it can forgive. And what it can't. (There!)
NG: Ha ha! You did it and quite well might I add! What inspired you to pen this sexy tale?
DC: Actually, Betrayed came about as a result of several (about 20) re-writes of my very first work.
NG: Give me three reasons readers will love Betrayed.
DC: Meldrick - he's reason enough. He's tormented, tortured, all knotted up inside. It's an interesting ride watching him work things out. The fantasy setting is pretty cool, I think. And #3 would have to be the sex. What can I say?
NG: Tell me the one thing readers can always count on when picking up one of your books?
DC: Smut. Well, with the exception of one of my stories. I like to write hot sex, so that's always going to be there. Unless it's not. LOL
NG: Thank you so much for coming on Simply Sexy Stories, DC, best wishes for all your endeavors in 2012!
DC: Thanks for having me!!! :-)
Blurb: Two years after he lost his soul mate to the war, Faldor still pines for Meldrick. His world is turned upside down when Meldrick appears on his doorstep late one night, seemingly back from the dead. Finally escaped from a prison camp, Meldrick protects a dar secret--one that could rip their rekindled love apart if Faldor ever learned the truth.
But the longer they're together, the more questions come up. What really happened two years ago? How did Meldrick escape the prison camp after so long? Is Meldrick the still the man Faldor fell in love with? Can Meldrick reconcile who he is with who he was and move beyond his treachery, or will betrayal win? Caution! Super Hot Excerpt Below: “Mel?” Faldor had awoken without Meldrick noticing, had sat up in bed, blankets clutched around himself, looking at Meldrick with worry, long, thick hair cascading around his head and over his shoulders in waves of liquid gold, fluffy white nightshirt askew, revealing one pale shoulder. By the gods, but Faldor was ravishing!
Meldrick moved without even realizing his steps. He crawled onto the bed and straddled Faldor. Without hesitation, he grabbed Faldor by the hair, hauled the smaller man up, and kissed Faldor savagely. He pushed Faldor back down into the bed, never taking his lips away, and clawed at Faldor’s nightshirt, ripping it open even as he bit and sucked at Faldor’s mouth.
Faldor answered, twining his arms around Meldrick’s neck and arching his back and hips up, grinding them against Meldrick’s body with a sweet, low moan.
Meldrick wrapped his arms tight around Faldor, molded their bodies together in a crushing embrace that wrenched a squeak from the lips beneath his. But he didn’t care. He held on, kissing Faldor, squeezing Faldor as though the healer might slip away.
He shook. Meldrick’s entire body—from feet to hands—shook. With passion for the man he loved. With rage for what his captors had turned him into. With shame for what he’d let himself become. What he’d become. Meldrick pulled away with a cry. He should explain. Apologize. Make an excuse. Something. Anything. But the words would not come. He bolted from the bed and stood there, staring mutely, unable to meet Faldor’s eyes, unable to speak, but yearning to somehow make Faldor understand.
Betrayed will be available on January 13th with Breathless Press!

“The High Council asks for your vote in the decision to release Lona Vilan. Her charges are as follows…”
Rafi tuned out the battery of offenses, captivated by the proud tilt of Lona’s chin. His gaze moved from the top of Lona’s head down to her bare feet. She looked pale—way too thin and exhausted—but not capable of the things she was accused of, Rafi was sure of it.
It couldn’t be easy to stand before everyone who would decide your fate.
I'm excited about the upcoming year and the writing projects I have lined up!
I'm also counting down the days until As You Desire releases with Total E-Bound on January 16th! Join me over on Beyond Romance on Wednesday, I'll be sharing a little teaser from my book!
