NG: Did you make any New Year’s resolutions?

AA: Not really. I never keep them, but I did promise myself to write more and read less. Dunno how that’s going to work.

NG: That's a good resolution! What are you reading right now?

AA: Nothing. A crying shame cause if I had my way I’d be reading all day, every day. But it would leave no time to write so I’ve taken to bribing myself: finish this or that WIP and then you can read.

NG: LOL I like your self-imposed blackmail tactics. Care to share some of your favorite authors?

AA: My faves are way too much to name, but I’ll try. I absolutely love Kresley Cole, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Francis Ray, Kimberly Kaye Terry. Any and all authors who write great stories with awesome characters.

NG: I love to read all those authors too! Winter is here! Do you enjoy the snow?

AA: I love snow. Hate the cold. I’m from the Caribbean and my blood hasn’t thickened yet. The perfect winter day is when I’m inside watching the snow through the window. LOL

NG: Which would you rather drink to warm up...hot chocolate or hot toddy?

AA: Hot toddy. I like my spirits…heh

NG: :) Okay, let's talk about your writing. What genre(s) do you write and why?

AA: Under the Erotic Romance genre I write interracial, paranormal and M/M.

NG: What draws you to erotic romantic novels?

AA: The sex! LOL Nah, I like the openness of it all. I like that I can experience all aspects of a couple falling in love, including that trip to the bedroom where it all hangs out. All the dirty and nasty stuff.

NG: Mmm hmmm! Is there any particular word or thing in erotic romance novels that you dislike as a reader?

AA: If your book is labeled an erotic romance, I expect the erotic. Nothing irks me more than the bedroom door slamming in my face, or a tension-filled buildup that doesn’t follow through. If you’re writing erotic, bring it already. I dislike head-hopping every two sentences and I don’t like first person stuff, or anything that keeps me inside the head of only one of the MCs. Also, no euphemisms for body parts, hmm? Let’s call them what they are.

NG: Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?

AA: Laid back pantser. I can’t plot to save my life. My characters take over and do as they please and I just enjoy the ride ;-)

NG: Has your writing process changed since your first book was published?

AA: I think so. I’m much more aware of the editing side of things than I was with my first book. That manuscript was a mess, but I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t and I write much cleaner and tighter now.

NG: What are you working on for 2012?

AA: I’m working on the final book in my Wicked series with eXtasy book, Wicked Is His Touch. No release date yet. Plus there are at least two more books in the PSC series for Total E-Bound and the eagerly awaited story of Jayce and Wes from Make Me Sweat. In between all those are the many stories clamoring for release in my crowded mind.

NG: I know the feeling! Let's talk about your latest release Till Abandon, book one in the paranormal security council series. What's this sizzling story about?

AA: Till Abandon is my first attempt at the shifter/paranormal sub-genre. As with each of my books, I try to push beyond my boundaries with Till Abandon and it’s the story of a female assassin finally giving in to the wolf she’s been running from. Her mate.

NG: What inspired you to pen this sexy tale?

AA: I had a sort of vision of this woman with white-blonde hair slitting a man’s throat. She popped out of nowhere and I had to know more. Why did she kill him? Who is she and what brought her to that particular act?

NG: What's the one thing readers can always count on when picking up one of your books?

AA: Readers can count on my characters to be in the most impossible situations. They can also count on me to bring the heat and keep it dirty, sex-wise. There’s always a heroine guaranteed to kick bootay and a hella-sexy hero all set to make you drool.

NG: Give me three reasons readers will love Till Abandon.

AA: 1. Voltaire, my heroine, is all swagged out. I say she’s gangsta with hers. 2. There’s some bedroom actions in there that none of my other books have—yet and 3. There are shifters all up and through that there novella and we do love us some shifters ;-)

In his apartment over Montez’ bar, Blake Montez lay on his bed, chewing on a toothpick, eyes closed. A psychic disturbance hovered in the air, charged with magic he’d never experienced before. It’d been two days since he’d first felt the soft ripples on his skin, and now it grew stronger, more insistent.

The other half of him, his wolf, clawed to get out, but Blake ignored the need for the moment. While strange and very powerful, the magic didn’t appear malevolent. These powers didn’t come from the cats trying to stake a claim to his territory. Czion, the jaguar leader, didn’t have access to the kind of power Blake felt in the air. Still, he should warn his pack to be wary, to be on the lookout for any strange goings-on. As Alpha, it was his duty to protect them and if this thing posed a threat, they needed to be prepared.

He rose off the bed, pulling on a pair of sweat pants and the black T-shirt he’d discarded earlier. A few of his guys remained downstairs, playing pool and hanging out. He’d tell them his suspicions and ask them to spread the word. Then he’d go for a run. His wolf itched to come out and play tonight.

Halfway down the stairs, he stopped. The unfamiliar magic seemed concentrated in the room below, the bar. He took his time descending the stairs, using his wolf senses to scent out the source. He found it—or rather her—at the bar.

“Marcus, get everyone out now.” Speaking to his beta and best friend, Blake kept his eyes on the woman. She sat with her back to him, dressed to match the snow white of her hair.

“What’s going on, Blake?” Bent over a pool table in the corner, cue in hand, Marcus didn’t sound the least bit disturbed.

“Don’t you feel the ripples in the air?” Blake struggled to quiet the growls rumbling in his throat. The wolf grew ever more restless. His skin tightened and sweat beaded on his forehead as he fought with his wolf for control.

“What ripples? What are you talking about?” Marcus straightened with the pool cue on his shoulder.

God damn, am I the only one feeling the interference?

“Get everybody out. Now.”

Blake approached the bar as Marcus ushered the few confused patrons outside. His friend tossed him a quizzical look and stopped next to the woman.

“She stays.”

“What the hell is going on, B?”

“Just get outside.”

Marcus exited the bar with a shake of his head, closing the door behind him. Blake took a deep breath and strode across to the woman in white.

“You didn’t have to make them leave on my account.” She swung around on the stool to face him.

Blake’s breath seized; his wolf roared. His cock, neglected for longer than necessary, stirred. Her smooth skin glowed the palest ivory, making her appear fragile and untouchable. Bone straight, white hair fell to her waist, getting lost in the white of her tight blouse, distressed jeans and floor length coat. The killer heels on her feet were an obscene red, matching her lips.

I can hear your wolf, she whispered in his head. Why do you suppose he’s fighting so hard to get out?

Blake flinched and stared into her mismatched eyes, feeling like he was floating. He tried getting into her thoughts but came up against a black wall.

That’s right. I can read your mind, but alas, she sighed dramatically, you can’t fuck with mine.

He closed the gap between them on unsteady legs, hands at his sides, heart hammering in his chest. His sweaty skin tightened painfully as the wolf clawed under his skin.

“Who are you?”

“Who do you want me to be, Blake?” Sex dripped from her low voice. Husky and silky-smooth. She posed a threat to him, to his wolf, to—

Now, now. A threat? Li’l ole me? She winked her right eye, the gold one. The left eye sparked a vibrant, violet hue.

“What are you?” Standing next to her with his teeth clenched, Blake couldn’t decide whether to grab her and spread her legs across the bar, or shoot her between those weird, gorgeous eyes.

“Um.” She licked her lips. “I vote for the first option.” He narrowed his eyes and she shrugged. “Just saying.”

“Strange magic surrounds you,” he rasped. “And you bring it here, to my pack.”

“Well, if you want to get technical, the strange magic doesn’t surround me so much as it lives in me.”

Blake reached a hand out, but snatched it back at the last second. “Get out now before I kill you.” He couldn’t have her here, distracting him with her strange pull and her particular brand of magic.

She laughed. Invisible arms wrapped around his waist and jerked him forward. To her.

“There are many reasons you can’t kill me, but let’s start with the one you refuse to acknowledge.” Rising off the stool, she leaned over and dragged her tongue down his neck.

His wolf erupted, awakened further by her touch. His cock, aroused before, hardened to painful proportions. Blake growled and grabbed her by the neck. She stared at him with her lips curved, those eyes twinkling.

The name’s Voltaire, but what do you call me, Blake?

He tightened his fingers around her neck. Her strange-ass pupils dilated. The wolf scented her arousal and went crazy, ready to mark. To claim.

Say it, Blake.

His eyesight dimmed as the wolf grew stronger, his other half already accepting what he fought to deny. Blake jerked her to him, speaking the word before his mouth descended on hers.

“Mate.”

NG: Welcome to Fast Five with Sam Crescent! Hey, Sam!

SC: Hiya, Nichelle. Thank you so much for having me back again.

NG: My pleasure! Tell me what The Valentines: Robert is all about?

SC: Well, Robert, is the first book in my new vampire series. This is the start of learning about the problems happening on Beyer West. The Valentines is a vampire family of four brothers and two sisters. They control Beyer West. The problem is the wolf pack are becoming out of control. When Robert Valentine forms a blood bond with a human female, Sophie, he agrees to protect her best friend Katie.

Let's just say in this book all hell is about to let loose.

NG: Oooo...sounds exciting! Why did you want to write this story?

SC: I have an addiction to vampires. I love all vampire programs and yes I love Twilight as well. I thought to myself to let my imagination spring free and let loose. What I love about Paranormal or vampire tales is there are no rules. You don't have to follow some rigid guidelines and everything can be how you want it to be.

NG: What do you think readers will love about this tale?

SC: I don't have sparkly vampires? lol. I don't know. I loved writing it and I hope that if other people love watching and reading vampires as much as I do, they'll enjoy this book. I for one love reading books as part of series and Robert is the first book within this series. I'm not very good at this am I? lol

NG: You're doing just fine! If you had to pick a favorite line from the book what would it be and why?

SC: “With all due respect, sir, I give my respect only to people who have earned it. And since, by definition, a person is someone who breathes, you don’t qualify.”

I love this line. Sophie my lead character says it. Robert admires her attitude and spunk. This really sets up the story nicely and love it.

NG: What can readers look forward to next from Sam Crescent?

SC: The second story in my vampire series, William, will be out a little later this year and I've also co-authored with a fellow Total-E Bound writer, Natalie Dae. Plenty of stuff coming along at the moment.

NG: How fun! Thank you so much for stopping by, Sam! I wish you all the best with this release!

Robert took hold of her hands and pulled gently, bringing her closer to him. He could smell how turned on she was. Her light scent invaded his nostrils. The bitter taste of her fear was unwelcome, but he knew that virgins always feared their first time.

He felt her tremble but she remained before him. Her courage should be worshipped.

Robert held her hands, not moving. He looked at her, making sure she kept her eyes on him and only on him. He stroked his thumb over her hand, trying to reassure her.

Using all his willpower, he opened up the connection between them. Her eyes were the key. He forced her to watch him, to trust him. Holding her hands provided the conduit of touch and her eyes gave him the key to her mind.

He hated himself for doing this, but time was of the essence.

“What do you want from me?” Again, the picture of a smiling Katie appeared before his eyes as she spoke.

“To finish the bond.” Her answer came in a dull voice. She was strong. She was fighting his hold on her. Her words seemed practiced.

As You Desire marks my tenth published work! I can't explain the joy of knowing my stories are reaching readers all over the world!

As You Desire is the second book in my Djinn Brotherhood series and although Vander from As You Wish will always remain one of my favorite characters to write, I had a blast telling Rafi and Lona's story. Their love affair is what I'd call a slow burn, but man, oh man is it HOT!

Chapter One

Rafi bit back a curse as he waited for his current master, Lacey, to make her final wish. He heard her stunned gasp from her bedroom and stifled a yawn as she rushed back into the living room dressed in a denim mini-skirt and a tight pink T-shirt that clung to her breasts.

She swivelled in the mirror, admiring her new slim, stacked body. “Look at me! I haven’t had this skirt on since…well, never. I can’t believe it—I’m freaking hawt now!”

Rafi cringed as she let out another squeal of delight.

“Omigoodness…look at my butt. Do you see it?”

He didn’t bother responding as Lacey continued to gush over her new curves.

“You still have one wish left to use.”

Lacey giggled with excitement, twirling like a ballerina in front of the mirror.

“It’s so hard to decide. I still can’t believe this happened to me!”

These were the moments he hated being a Djinn. He was so tired of fulfilling empty, mundane, utterly typical wishes.

C’mon, lady, I don’t have all day.

He blew out a breath, frustrated with everything. It would be so easy to help her make a decision. All he’d have to do was give her a gentle mental push and use the unique ability he’d been born with to project his thought into Lacey’s mind.

Too bad it was strictly forbidden behaviour for any Djinn capable of the gift within the Brotherhood.

Wishes were to be made freely. The reality was he actually did have all day, all month…hell, all year if that was how long Lacey decided to take to utter her last request.

Lacey glanced away from her reflection to cast a quick look at him through the mirror. “What’s the matter, gorgeous? Am I taking too long for you?”

The smile he gave her spiked the intensity of the headache thumping against his skull.

“Time is of no consequence for me.”

Rafi crossed his arms, wishing Lacey lived in the tropics instead of this godforsaken frozen farmhouse located in the middle of nowhere.

“Maybe that’s it…I could wish to live forever, like you.”

“Trust me—living forever isn’t as great as it sounds.”

A stab of pain hit his heart and Rafi steeled himself as it travelled down the length of his body.

How long had it been since he’d allowed himself to feel that heartache?

He blinked, trying to erase images of smiling grey eyes, silky chestnut hair and—

“I can come to you later. Give you some time to make your final decision.”

Lacey turned her face away from the mirror and glanced at the stacks of cash covering her coffee table before looking at him.

“Wait. I know what I want.”

Rafi nodded his head, ready to deliver and split. He couldn’t wait to get home after a week in the icy tundra.

“You’ve been very good to me, Rafi.” Lacey walked over to him, running her eyes over his body.

Oh, hell, here we go.

“That’s my job as your Djinn.”

Lacey lifted her gaze from his chest to meet his eyes. “You’re a dream come true, and I’m not just talking about the wishes.”

“I’m glad you’re satisfied.”

Wrong choice of words.

He could practically feel the sexual hunger emanating from Lacey. She had no doubt been starved of male attention, her locale and extra body weight hindering her dating activities big time.

“I’d like to be.” Lacey gave him a hesitant smile as she smoothed her hands down her denim skirt.

“Excuse me?”

Perhaps if he played clueless she’d lose her nerve.

Lacey reached up and touched his shoulder.

“I’d like to be satisfied by you.”

She blushed, obviously unaccustomed to making brazen demands.

If he wasn’t in such a foul mood he might’ve acted on her bashful come-on.

“Is that your final wish?”

“Could it be?”

“No.”

Not exactly the truth, but she wasn’t privy to the by-laws of the Djinn Brotherhood.

DC: Nah. I don't really believe in waiting for a specific date to make changes in your life.

NG: What are you reading right now?

DC: I'm re-reading The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G. Wells for about the hundredth time.

NG: Oooo...great book! Care to share some of your favorite authors?

DC: You're just trying to get a guy in trouble! ::grins::

NG: I wouldn't do that! ;-)

DC: I don't talk about my favorite m/m authors. But as far as mainstream, I like H.G. Wells, RA Salvatore, and Richard Knaak.

NG: Nice! Winter is here! Do you enjoy the snow?

DC: I do not! LOL I have a lot of joint issues and horrendous arthritis, and the snow makes me grouchier than I should be. Also, I've got SAD, so the winter months aren't my favorite.

NG: Which would you rather drink to warm up...hot chocolate or hot toddy?

DC: My preference would be a hot toddy, but sadly I'm no longer allowed to have alcohol. But it's all good - I like hot chocolate, too!

NG: So do I! Okay, let's talk about your writing. What genre(s) do you write and why?

DC: I mainly write contemporary and fantasy. Why? I don't have to do as much research. I hate research.

NG: It is time consuming. What draws you to erotic romantic novels?

DC: Quite simply, I like writing and reading about sex.

NG: LOL...your direct, I like that! Is there any particular word or thing in erotic romance novels that you dislike as a reader?

DC: Man tits. Man cunt. Man pussy. All those man-"female body part" words. UGH. Men have nipples, penises, and asses. Just use those words. Seriously - anything else is really unsexy!

NG: Well said! Reading man cunt within a story would definitely turn me off.

Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?

DC: I'm definitely not a plotter. I write things down as they come to me, and piece them together later on.

NG: Has your writing process changed since your first book was published?

DC: About the only thing I do differently is I don't send every story to a beta reader anymore. I'm more confident in my writing and what my editor wants.

NG: Isnt' that a beautiful feeling? What are you working on for 2012?

DC: I've got 24 WIPs going on right now. I'm working with mostly new characters, but Jack and Alan fans will be happy to know there's another book in the works featuring them, and Vance, Raine, and Andrew fans are finally getting the book they wanted - the one that tells how the sexy trio got together.

NG: 24 WIP's??!! Wowzers! That's wild, DC! Well, let's talk about your latest release, Betrayed. In five sentences or less, share what Betrayed is about.

DC: 5 sentences or less??? Sheesh. You make a boy work for it, don't you? Um…okay, here goes: Betrayed is about love - how it endures, what it can encompass, what it can forgive. And what it can't. (There!)

Cinnamon muffins
1 cup/140g wholewheat flour

3 tbsp/42g sugar

½ cup/140ml milk

1 egg

½ tbsp baking powder

Pinch of salt

1 tsp lemon juice

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/8 cup/30ml soy or sunflower oil

Makes about 8 large muffins

Ideal for those of you - like me - who possess both scant patience and a raging sweet tooth. A lovely variation is to omit the cinnamon and stir in a handful of cranberries for a sweet Christmas treat!

Pre-heat the oven to 400Mix all the dry ingredients together and, in a separate bowl, blend together all the wet ingredients. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry while continually stirring to create a smooth mixture that is free from lumps.

Pour into a muffin tin (paper cases are so much easier than greasing it), ensuring it is shared as equally as possible.

Pop the tray into the oven and bake for about 20 minutes. Check they are done by sticking in a tooth pick and checking that it comes out clean.

Maybe this cookie recipe will help! I'm not much of a baker, but I sometimes make cookies as holiday gifts for co-workers. This recipe, from The Joy of Cooking by Irma S. Rombauer and Marion Rombauer Becker, is one of my favorites – because it's so easy! I've included some variations that I've tried, in italics.

Quick Oatmeal Cookies

(Makes about three dozen two inch cookies)

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Measure:

½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed

½ cup granulated sugar

You can also substitute 2 teaspoons of maple syrup and cut the granulated sugar to ¼ cup.
Cut the milk to 2 teaspoons in this case.

Cream with:

½ cup butter

Combine and beat in until smooth:

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 tablespoon milk

Sift together and add to the above ingredients:

1 cup all purpose flour

½ teaspoon soda

½ teaspoon double-acting baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

When beaten smooth, add:

1 cup uncooked quick rolled oats

1 teaspoon grated orange (or lemon) rind

1 teaspoon cinnamon and ½ teaspoon cloves

¼ cup chopped walnuts

¼ cup raisins

Beat the mixture well. Drop cookies two inches apart on a well greased cookie sheet and bake until light brown. (About ten minutes).

Be sure to leave plenty of space between the cookies. They start out as lumps but flatten as they bake. If you don't leave enough space, they run together into ugly (but still delicious) blobs.

Our boots crunched through the new layer of white stuff, illuminated by honeyed street lamps and dancing, chasing Christmas lights. Around us, Christmas glowed. Santas, reindeer, season’s greetings and angels, all lit up, adorned lamp posts and house fronts.

“It’s all very pretty,” I commented to break the silence. “Very Christmassy.”

“Yes,” Carl replied. “I love the festive lights—they lift your mind from the cold and the drudgery of winter and make you think of all things good and warm and loving.”

I looked at him and his smile made me feel all things good and warm and loving. I wanted him—I wanted him then and there, despite the inches of snow and the hard-blowing wind. When we reached my doorway, I stopped.

“Here I am,” I said, redundantly. “Thanks for walking me home.”

I lifted myself onto my tiptoes to kiss him. He bent as he kissed me back so that my feet were in contact with the floor again, even if the rest of me soared away with the arousal that coursed through my veins. Snowflakes melted on our cheeks during our deep kiss.

At long last...~The End~

I'm paying the price right now for staying up to 2:30 in the morning, but I don't care because last night...well, earlier this morning, I finally wrote ~The End~ on my latest contemporary erotic romance!

I'm so excited. I'm far from done with this book, but just writing those two little words feels incredible after working on this story for over six months...six tumultuous months. I actually wondered if I could finish this book. After the summer I've had, I wasn't sure I wanted to, but I love this tale. I wanted to finish it for so many reasons. I'm also thrilled to feature my first full-figured heroine! I'm a curvy girl and I love reading stories about vivacious women who are unabashedly proud of their voluptuous bodies!

You'll love this book...it has the perfect blend of passion and romance! And best of all...I'm one step closer to submitting it! So, share a toast with me...I'm celebrating the fact that these characters finally got their happy ending!

Now, for the first set of edits!

I actually like this part...going back to the beginning, getting wrapped up in letting the story and the characters all over again. I love filling in those little details, adding those final touches that bring the story fully to life. At 40K, this is one of my longer works. I'm thinking it'll round out around 50K by the time I get really finished with it.

Hopefully, I can finish my edits by the end of the year.

I know. The holidays are going to put a serious dent in those plans. That's okay. I'm not gonna rush it. This story

Are You Ready...

For the holiday craze?

Thanksgiving is over and now we're barreling forward into December and I can't believe it! The tree is up, lights have been hung and I am already mixing in Christmas songs with my music. I love the magic of this season!

I think that's why three of my stories are based around the holidays. What's better mixing in those magical holiday elements in a sexy, romantic...erotic tale? I've got three tales that blend all of these components beautifully, like, The Gingerbread Tryst which was inspired by my love of baking and the classic fairy tale.

My husband always wants me to make these fragrant cookies and I always pretend I'm not going to do it, but I always do. Anyways, when the idea for this story popped into my mind, I couldn't write it fast enough! I knew it would be a hot and unique twist to the original story...totally fun!

The storyline for Hearts & Diamonds is centered around Christmas too. The snowy backdrop of the city only heightens the sizzling chemistry between my heroine and hero. Once again, baking cookies leads to another sexy scene in this book.

Hmm...can you tell I have a thing for cookies? :)

Doll takes place right before New Years...nope, there isn't a cookie scene in this novella, but don't worry it's smokin' hot without the baked goods!

JI: I’m reading two books right now. I’m listening to an audio of Nora Roberts’ Morrigan’s Cross and working on a challenging knit scarf—for knitters, it’s the Linen stitch scarf. And I’m reading Robin Owens’ Heart Journey.

NG: Care to share some of your favorite authors?

JI: I have so many! I have been reading a lot of Nora Roberts lately, J.R. Ward, Robin Owens and Linda Howard occasionally. I like reading series stories, so I usually pick one and read all the books in order. I’ve also recently read some J.C. Owens and Kim Dare. I’m writing a book called The Viking in My Bed right now where the hero is a huge historical romance reader, so I’ve been having fun dropping the names of his favorite authors.

NG: Summer's gone and autumn is here! Which would you rather do? Tumble in the leaves with your sweetie or snuggle by the fire as the snow falls?

JI: I’m more of a snuggler. I have to make myself go out when it’s wet and cold, which is winter here. Not much snow, just very rainy. But I am busy with ceramics or yoga classes so I’m lucky if I have snuggling time.

NG: The holidays are right around the corner...what do you look forward to the most during this time?

JI: I like doing my place to reflect whatever season it is so I’m slowly moving into holiday decorating. Peacock colors and sparkle. It’ll be nice to entertain, good wine and food.

NG: Sounds lovely! I enjoy decorating for the season too! Okay, let's talk about your writing. What genre(s) do you write and why?

JI: I write pretty much all genres. I like challenging myself so there isn’t much I haven’t done so far. Next year I might try Steam punk because I’ve never done that.

NG: What draws you to erotic romantic novels?

JI: I have always primarily read romance and I enjoy slipping into worlds that will touch me, move me and ultimately be uplifting.

NG: Is there any particular word or thing in erotic romance novels that you dislike as a reader?

JI: Occasionally an affection of an author will make it hard to read. I remember this with a certain comedic story I would like to have enjoyed but the story was treated like one joke after another and it got tedious for me.

NG: Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?

JI: I would like to do more with plotting and I intend to. Some of my stories are quite complex. The problem is that I usually am just dying to dive in and start writing.

NG: Has your writing process changed since your first book was published?

JI: I’ve learned a few things such as rewriting and how word count is built. I never thought much of that previously. Now I know what is possible with a story.

NG: What are you working on now?

JI: I’m close to finishing an m/m romance called The Viking in my Bed. It’s about a college boy who wakes up crushed under a sexy Viking warrior. It’s a fun and sexy romp.

He knew that Daniel wanted him under his hands in the stingy single bed where he slept in an apartment over the club.

“I’m celibate because I’m waiting for you.”

Sand swallowed around a dry throat, fighting to keep his expression impassive. What was it about Daniel that had got to him, right from the beginning? “Well, that puts it on the table.” He edged out of his seat, body running hot. He needed to find some man, reasonably attractive, human or vampire, and get on his knees and suck him off. The way he was feeling, he’d shoot from just the act of giving release to another man.

Daniel snagged Sand’s hand. “I didn’t say you could leave,” Daniel said.

Sand caught his breath at the feel of raw power shimmering around the young man like an electrical field. “Control,” he warned softly as the lights in the club flickered. “There are humans here with no idea of who we really are.”

Daniel’s jaw bunched. “Kiss me. Kiss my lips and I’ll put a cap on the power I’m putting out.”

“Blackmail.”

“Whatever.” The weary thread in Daniel’s voice touched Sand. He sounded as if he had slept badly the night before. Sand should know since he hadn’t slept, either.

He had to be crazy, he had to be wrong, but his blood and bones told him that Daniel was the man Sand had searched for over the long years, the man he needed to bond with to finally be complete. “All right, I’ll give you your kiss.”

Daniel’s pupils expanded, almost as if he were a werewolf, a predator, instead of a young wizard and one of the rulers of their supernatural world.

“Put your hands behind your back.” Daniel nuzzled Sand’s neck.

When had he got so close? His breath was warm whisky against Sand’s skin. Without even thinking of it, Sand obeyed, even though he was usually careful about what others saw, to whom he submitted. His powerful clientele had to respect him so he could maintain order.

“Perfect. You’re so perfect like this. I’ve wanted this for so long.” Daniel rewarded him by running a hand over Sand’s crotch, touching him through his clothing.

Failing to resist temptation, Sand trembled and pushed himself deeper into the caress. “This is a bad idea,” he whispered. “It’ll just hurt more when we stop.”

“How can it hurt any more than it does now?” Daniel said. “I don’t care about the fucking rules. I don’t care if a wizard is forbidden to mate with anyone but another wizard. I’ve wanted you for ages.” He squeezed more firmly.

It hurt, but hurt so good. Sand let his head fall back. He couldn’t stop himself from surrender now that he’d allowed Daniel to finally touch him.

“Do you want to get off?” Daniel licked Sand’s neck.

Sand shivered. He wanted to demand that Daniel bite, break the skin. “What do you think?” Sand grumbled. His hands ached from the force he needed to keep his hands clasped behind his back, instead of reaching out to touch Daniel. But Sand would sit and let Daniel do whatever he wanted while excitement played around them like hot, rising sparks.

Eyes intent on Sand’s face, Daniel removed his hand.

“No!” Sand couldn’t stop himself from begging. “Please…”

“I know what you want.” Daniel offered his wrist to Sand’s mouth. “One taste and you’ll know who your master is.”

Sand moaned as he licked the skin, felt the bump of blue veins under his tongue. With heat beating through him, he couldn’t stop, even knowing this was how a mage rewarded his pet. One Of Those Weeks...

I'm having one of those weeks when I can't seem to muster up enough creative energy to actually write the blogging topics floating around in my head along with characters yelling at me in frustration to finish the damn book I'm working on and get to their story.

That's what I'm trying to do. Finish this book that has been lingering in the WIP stage far longer than I'd like. I want to finish this book, so I can move on creatively in my head. I love this book, but it will always remind me of the moment in time my heart shattered in a kazillion pieces.

I can't believe it's already been three months since I've lost my mom. The days just go by and you have to just get up and go with it or lose yourself in sadness. Some days, I willingly choose to do the latter. I'm cutting myself some slack...lots of it, but it feels weird not to write and then it feels weird to write. I thought about putting this story away, but that's not my style. I must finish whatever I start and plus, I'm so so close to the end.

I'll will finish this book. I'm giving myself to the end of November to write 'The End.' I always work better with self-imposed deadlines.

I can't believe how fast time is flying! Are the holidays really right around the corner again??

The trees are shedding their leaves faster than the wind can carry them. I just saw the first snow flurries of the season this morning! Eeek!

Tomorrow is Friday, Veteran's Day here in the US and I'd like to take a moment and salute all of our veterans.

Your service to our country is immeasurable and very much appreciated!

J.S.: Making costumes for my kids, hands down. I’m a creative type, and I love making stuff! Creating cosumes for them, and with them, now that they’re older, is so much fun.

NG: Your kids most love it too! Quick! You're about to be attacked by a horde of zombies...do you think you could survive?

J.S.: Fuck no! I’m a whimp. I really am. Maybe if my kids were there, I’d find it in me, but otherwise? I have to admit, I’d be in big trouble.

NG: lol...me too, Jamie, me too! Okay, you've become a witch for the night...what spell would you cast?

J.S.: Is it too mundane to say I’d pull a Micky Mouse and enchant my vacuum cleaner and duster? I live with the dream that some day, my house will be clean and presentable. *sings* “I dreamed a dream…”

NG: An enchanted vacuum cleaner and duster would be wonderful! So, what's your favorite Halloween candy? Least favorite and why?

J.S.: OMG, least is easy. Those gawdaweful Halloween caramels (can you call them that?) in the orange and black wrappers. They are sooo bad! Candy corn runs a close second. Even my kids won’t eat it! My favorite is probably rockets. Or the caramel apples my great aunt used to make for us, drizzled with chocolate…mmmm…..

NG: Sounds delish! Let's talk about Ghosts & Lovers! Give me three reasons your tale will trick-n-treat your readers.

J.S.: Well, first and foremost, it’s a rare story about a hero who isn’t physically perfect. He has a degenerative eye disease and is almost blind. Second, it involves one of my personal favorite tropes: friends to lovers. To me, there’s something special about a friend willing to take the risk of showing he wants so much more out of the relationship. And third, it’s full of ghosts, and sometimes, it can be tough to figure out if a ghost is good or not-so-good. Tim has a lot of deciphering to do in order to figure out which spirits mean him harm, and which ones just want to be close…

Tim leaned away, reached up to find an arm and moved his hand up to the shoulder, not
quite daring to go further. "I heard you. You took tomatoes from the neighbor's garden and
you slept on our porch with the cat." He gripped the flannel shirt under his fingers and leaned
closer, lowered his voice. "You took my father's shirt, and you sometimes climb up into the
tree outside my window." His voice was barely a whisper now and Gordon's nearness sent a
shiver through him. "I bet you watch me sleep."

There was a snicker, and Gordon jerked Tim's hand free of the fabric, crushed it in a tight
fist.

Tim grimaced, but didn't utter any sound.

"I watch you do a lot of things, Tim‐tim."

"Why do you watch?" Tim asked, trying not to let the pain into his voice. He felt his way
through the thick air, the threat, his own uncertainty, to find lips. "When you could do it with
me?" he whispered against those lips.

Gordon drove him to the ground under his weight. "What do you want me to do with
you, Tim‐tim?"

Tim didn't mind the reassuring weight holding him down. It was warm when they did
this, and almost felt like what they did together mattered. He ran a hand over the smooth,
cool skin of his companion's cheek, sliding his thumb along the side of his nose and over his
lips. He raised his other hand to the man's forehead and slipped his fingers over the lines of
worry there, down his face, gently over his eyes, exploring with his hands what the darkness
hid. "Kiss me."

"Kiss you?" The body above him rose a little, and Tim clung to a handful of flannel and
tiny buttons.

"I always wanted to, when you used to come at night and peer in the windows. I wanted
to sneak out and talk to you, meet you. But I never did."

"Why?"

"You stopped coming."

"No. Why did you want to meet me?" There was a hint of wonder in the question, and
Tim relaxed his grip to reach up and read the emotion with his fingers, in the slack set of the
man's jaw, his lax lips. He touched Gordon's bottom lip with his thumb and smiled.

"Because you could have snuck into anyone's porch, peeked in anyone's window. You
kept coming back to mine. Maybe I wanted to know why."

Gordon kissed his thumb and leaned close again, kissing along Tim's jaw to his chin,
pausing just before their lips met. "Because you left your curtains open." His hand snuck
under Tim's t‐shirt. "All that pale flesh on display. You did that on purpose."

"Maybe." Tim squirmed to get the hand where he wanted it, in full contact with his
chilled side. As Gordon's hand roved over his stomach and chest, he closed his eyes, and the
image of his partner's face came back to him. Long black hair and narrow features, dark eyes,
a sharp nose and thin, almost pointed chin. Most of all, he remembered the lust, shining from
his eyes and accenting his smooth, hairless features. He saw again the fine lips curved in a
satisfied smile as he watched. Tim's hips lifted, creating friction that met with movement
against him and made him moan. He turned his head, searching for lips and tongue. He found
them, as eager for contact as he was.

Gordon thrust a hand inside his jeans, and they both squirmed for contact, Tim shivering
as cold fingers wrapped around his hardness. He ground up into Gordon's grip, jerking his
hips against Gordon's erection, and moaning into his mouth.

Memories washed through Tim, of spreading himself, naked on his bed and waiting for
the telltale shimmer of moonlight on glossy leaves as Gordon climbed the tree outside his
window to watch him. The excitement of knowing he was under scrutiny always made it
better for Tim. Even when the view out his window began to blur as his eyes lost their focus,
just knowing there was someone there turned it into something other than a solitary, lonely
activity. The sensation of eyes on him became addictive, made it easier to forget for a little
while all the other things that weren't right in his life.

"Tim‐tim." Gordon's voice in his ear brought him back to the present. "Come for me, Timtim.
Like you used to, moaning, with your head thrown back, your throat exposed." His mouth
travelled down to cover Tim's throat with possessive, hungry lips. He licked at Tim's Adam's
apple, sucking the skin between his teeth, then travelled back up, close to his ear. "Come in
my hand, Tim‐tim."

Even as he spoke, his own hips moved, faster, harder, against Tim's body, crushing his
buttocks against the cold ground. Gordon's fist clenched hard around Tim as he came,
groaning into Tim's neck and jerking spasmodically against him.

"Don't stop," Tim gasped, hammered his hips up into Gordon, moving his cock inside the
tight grip, clamping his teeth around a harsh shout as he finished and sagged. They lay, for a
while, Gordon's lips roving over Tim's face and throat, and Tim's hands traveling up and
down, swarming over Gordon's body while the flush of orgasm cooled.

"How do you know?"

Tim glanced back over his shoulder. He couldn't be sure exactly where Gordon was, but
he felt the other's presence somewhere behind him. "You hum."

"I what?" Gordon removed the jacket from Tim's shoulders. "I hum?"

"Yeah." Tim put a hand on Gordon's chest and felt the deceptive solidity through the soft
material. "I can hear it. The less I see, the better I hear you. It's like…" he smiled and let his
hand fall. "I don't know what it's like, but I like it."

"I knew I should have left a long time ago," Gordon muttered, but Tim heard the teasing
under the words. More seriously, he asked, "Does anyone else hum?"

"No." Tim shook his head and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Sis yells. It's all she ever
did, even before she was a ghost. I don't get along so well with her as with you."

"We never used to get along, when—"

"When you were alive?"

Creepy Yet Sexy!

Halloween is only a few days away and I'm just excited as my kids! What's not to love about dressing up and pretending to be someone or something else for a few hours? It's the one night many people who wouldn't dream of role-playing any other time don a costume to have some fun.

Are you still trying to figure out what to wear for Halloween? There's still time to cook up something fabulous, but first you've gotta decide whether you're going to go be cute, sexy or just plain creepy! For Halloween, it's more fun to me to combine all three!

If I had unlimited resources and a make-up artist, I definitely pick one of creatures depicted in some of my favorite flicks who manage to pull off the creepy/sexy balance just boo-tifully like these ladies:

Scarrry & Oh, So Sexy with Marie Sexton!

MS: That’s a tough one. I love fall in general. I love the leaves on the ground, and the haunted houses, and the jack-o-lanterns, and the pumpkin patches. That’s probably it, actually. Going to the pumpkin patch. Here’s one of my favorite photos of my daughter and I at our favorite patch (this one is from a couple of years ago).

NG: Aww...that's one beaut of a pumpkin! Look out, you're about to be attacked by a horde of zombies...do you think you could survive?
MS: Absolutely. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, I intend to throw Fred Phelps and the rest of the Westboro hate-mongers at the zombies as fodder. Then I’ll run like hell.

NG: Ha ha! You've become a witch for the night...what spell would you cast?

MS: The Magic Spell of Everlasting Writerly Motivation and Inspiration.

NG: Oooo...now, that's the spell to have for sure! What is your favorite Halloween candy? Least favorite and why?

MS: Rather than answering that, I’m going to run off on a tangent. I think it’s really unfortunate that we’ve let Halloween urban legends steer us away from homemade treats. The (false) media hype has taught us that only store-bought, factory-produced, individually-wrapped candy is “safe”. It makes me sad. I know my neighbors. I trust my neighbors. I’d rather have a good old-fashioned Rice Krispie Treat than any store-bought candy.

NG: Mmm...I love Rice Krispie Treats! Give me three reasons your tale will trick-n-treat your readers.

MS: 1. Trick: Song of Oestend is my first non-contemporary. Many readers have said they started reading it without reading the blurb, and found themselves rather confused.

2. Treat: People who have read my contemporaries know that my stories aren’t known for having lots of sex. I make my boys work hard for their big payoff. That being said, Song of Oestend is the exception to the rule. Aren is the most unapologetically sexual character I’ve ever written. Add that to Deacon’s absolute need for release, and things get hot early. And often. Definitely a steamy treat. ;-)

3. Opposites Attract + Friends to Lovers = Trick and Treat? Plus, it’s a tiny bit spooky.

Aren had been planning nothing more than a quick tryst, but as he sat on a bale of hay waiting for Deacon to arrive, his plan began to evolve. For those brief moments at the table, Deacon had felt like putty in his hands. He’d seen a hint of submission in Deacon’s eyes, and it thrilled him. He found himself wanting desperately to explore how far that submission went.

“I’m glad you waited,” Deacon said when he finally entered the stall, “but I only have a few minutes.”

“That’s fine.” Aren contemplated Deacon’s strong, muscular frame and the bulge that was already forming in the cowboy’s pants. He knew Deacon only owned three or four pairs of pants, and about as many shirts. The ones he wore now were his nicest ones, kept aside for dinner with the family. “You’re not wearing those to work, right?” Aren asked.

“No.”

“Good.” Aren stood up and closed the door to their stall. They still wouldn’t have total privacy—the walls only came up to Aren’s shoulder—but it somehow served to underline the point that they were finally alone. He turned to find Deacon watching him. His expression was exactly as it had been at the dinner table—hopeful, aroused, and completely submissive. “Take off your pants,” Aren said.

Deacon smiled at him. “Have to take my boots off first.” But he didn’t argue. He pulled his boots off, tossing them into the corner. Then he slowly took his pants off. He didn’t toss those on the floor. He folded them and placed them on a hay bale before turning back to Aren. His shirt hung down past his hips, although the front of it was caught on his rather impressive erection.

Aren stepped up close to him and began to unbutton his shirt. “We don’t have enough time to do this right,” he said as he worked his way down the front of Deacon’s shirt. “But I’m not letting you hide from me anymore.”

“I wasn’t the one hiding.” Of course that was true. Aren hadn’t thought of it as hiding, but he could see now that was exactly how it had looked.

“I was trying to give you space if you wanted it.”

“Seemed like you didn’t want to see me.”

“I woke up in the morning and you were gone. I figured that was your way of telling me you didn’t want it to happen again.”

“No,” Deacon said, looking amused. “That was my way of telling you I had chores to do before breakfast.”

“You’re forgiven,” Aren said, even though it hadn’t actually been an apology, and he was pleased when Deacon laughed. Aren undid the bottom button and pushed the shirt backwards off Deacon’s shoulders.

“You have to undo the cufflinks,” Deacon said.

Aren smiled and shook his head. “Not this time.” He pulled the shirt down Deacon’s arms, and just as he’d planned, the sleeves turned inside out, but stopped before Deacon’s big hands escaped from the cuffs. Aren moved behind him. He pulled Deacon’s hands together and used the fabric of the shirt to bind Deacon’s hands behind his back. It wouldn’t be enough to hold him if he really wanted to get free, but Aren was pretty sure Deacon didn’t want to escape anyway.

He walked back in front of Deacon, tracing his fingers down the scar that started at Deacon’s collarbone and trailed towards his navel. Deacon’s eyes were closed, his breathing heavy, his cock hard and tipped with a bead of moisture.

“You don’t get to come right now,” Aren said. He leant forwards to tease one of Deacon’s nipples, flicking his tongue over the bud of flesh. “You’re going to have to wait.”

“Then what are you doing here?” Deacon asked.

Aren reached down to cup Deacon’s heavy sac in his hand, squeezing gently, and Deacon moaned. “I want you to be thinking about me all day.”

“That won’t be anything new.”

“No,” Deacon breathed.

Aren smacked his flank playfully, and noted the groan it elicited from Deacon. “You don’t know what desperate is,” Aren teased. Deacon’s bound hands and the bulk of his shirt hid most of his ass, and Aren crossed slowly behind Deacon until he stood at his other side. His right hand rested on Deacon’s firm ass. His left hand fingered his erect nipple. “I want you squirming in your saddle all day.” He pinched one of Deacon’s nipples, and the cowboy’s gasp of pleasure made him moan.

He slid his right hand down Deacon’s ass, his fingers probing between his cheeks. VB: Well I am intelligent but I am not very fast. I think if I can hold them off with some kind of makeshift weapon I might survive. If I've got some pals with me we’ll be fine I’m sure. I wouldn’t make a good zombie, my skin is really pale as it is!

NG: You've become a witch for the night...what spell would you cast?

VB:World peace, that’s always the right answer, right? Either that or a spell to make sure there’s always chocolate in the house when I need it, that’d be good.

NG: LOL! What is your favorite Halloween candy? Least favorite and why?

VB: Again, I’m British and we’re coming late to this whole thing. I don’t think there really are any specific sweets brought out here for Halloween. It’s close to Bonfire night (the bigger British holiday) and I love a chocolate apple at that time of year. It is literally an apple dipped in chocolate and topped with sprinkles. Yummy.

The car trundled up the long driveway, the crunching of gravel beneath tyres the only sound as Stephanie and her girlfriend, Jenny, peered out of the windows at their surroundings.

Even at dusk the tree-lined driveway was impressive with perfectly maintained parkland, spanning for acres on either side of it. As Stephanie steered the Fiesta around a bend in the track, they both gasped. Their destination, Wilderhope Manor, had come into view and it was stunning. The Tudor style property was huge, with no less than three frontages visible from where they were. Chimneys with intricately built patterns jutted into the darkening sky, with tangles of ivy climbing parts of the manor, giving the place an appearance that was both beautiful and foreboding.

Presently, the driveway opened out into a gravelled area, which as far as Stephanie could tell, doubled as a car park for the weekend. Stephanie manoeuvred into a spot between two vehicles and killed the engine. As she turned to Jenny, she jumped, startled. Her girlfriend had leaned in close, making a scary face with her hands mimicking claws.

“Are you ready to be scared out of your wits, young lady?” Jenny rasped, wiggling her eyebrows and fingers theatrically.

Stephanie shoved her playfully, laughing. “Come on, you silly cow. It’s a murder mystery weekend, not a monster hunt. There will be no ghosts, ghouls or vampires involved.”

Stephanie got out of the car and closed the door. She’d already popped open the boot and started unloading their bags before Jenny appeared alongside her, pouting petulantly.

“But it’s Halloween tomorrow,” Jenny insisted. “Anything could happen. The veil between the living and dead will be at its thinnest, and this place is meant to be swarming with ghosts.”

“If you say so, sweetheart,” she replied, rolling her eyes. She was used to Jenny’s crazy beliefs by now. “Grab your bags and let’s get inside. It’s cold. You got the tickets?”

Jenny nodded, brandishing her handbag in response. Jenny picked up her overnight bag as Stephanie slammed the boot lid before locking the car, then followed her toward the grand entrance to Wilderhope Manor.

A little while later, they were installed in their room. They’d each been handed a “Welcome Pack” by the staff member who had attended to them at Reception, which consisted of their itinerary and instructions for the weekend.

As they unpacked, she voiced one of the thoughts that had run through her head. “Have you ever noticed how places never bat an eye at two girls sharing a room, and yet, if it’s two guys, they automatically assume they’re gay?”

“They’ll soon change their tune when they see your outfit for tonight!” Jenny replied, grinning cheekily at her. “It screams ‘lesbian’ with every stitch!”

“Whatever do you mean, you saucy wench? Someone with girl parts dressing as a distinguished gentleman does not a lesbian make.”

PT: Hi, Nichelle! Thanks for having me!

NG: It's a pleasure! What are you reading now, Paige?

PT: I’m doing a lot of research at the moment for an epic historical I have underway. But of course the beauty of being a writer is that you can read whatever you like and pretend you’re virtuously doing research!

NG: True! Care to share some of your favorite authors?

PT: I read a really wide range of genres, and non-fiction on all kinds of subjects, so that’s a difficult question to answer. But for my money, there’s no better comfort reading than Terry Pratchett, and even though I’ve read every one of his books several times, they still make me literally laugh out loud. For historical research, specifically for historicals set in England, I can heartily recommend Liza Picard’s series of books on London in different eras. As for erotic romance writers, I’m always open to suggestions for exciting new voices on the scene.

NG: Summer's gone and autumn is here! What's your favorite part of this season?

PT: I don’t get on with that big, hot, yellow ball that’s always in the sky in the summer, so I’ll be glad when the weather turns a bit cooler. Autumn is probably my favourite season – from those crisp, cold, golden autumn days you get, to the colours of the leaves, to Guy Fawkes’ Night and Hallowe’en. Hot chocolate! Hot chestnuts! Hot stories! ;-)

NG: Yes! Autumn is my fave season as well! Which would you rather do? Tumble in the leaves with your sweetie or snuggle by the fire as the snow falls?

PT: That’s another difficult one, but I’ll have to go with the leaves – if only because my sweetie tends to get a wicked glint in his eye and drop snow down the back of my neck!

NG: lol! Halloween is right around the corner...what would be your ultimate costume?

PT: I adore fancy dress. Absolutely love it. Last year I was Medusa, complete with snakes in my hair and a toga made from a bed sheet. I haven’t decided yet what I’ll be doing this year, but I’ll definitely be dressing up. And dragging as many people as possible into the madness with me! My sweetie and I might be going on a local ghost walk with a group of Steampunk friends, and if we do that I’ll have to step up my act – Steampunks always look fabulous.

NG: That sounds like so much fun and Medusa is one of my fave mythological creatures! Okay, let's talk about your writing. What genre(s) do you write and why?

PT: I’m just starting out as an erotic romance author, so at the moment I’m having lots of fun playing around with different settings and characters. I suppose you could say I’m finding my voice – and I’m having an enormous amount of fun doing it!

As a reader I particularly like historical romances and stories with elements of humour and whimsy, so I’m drawn to those genres as a writer. The genres you probably won’t see me writing are high fantasy and hard science fiction – but never say never!

My main problem is that I have too many ideas and not enough hours in the day!

NG: What draws you to erotic romantic novels?

PT: As I said, I like the scope of erotic romance – they can be set in the past or the future or another world entirely, can make you laugh or make you cry. If you want to write about space aliens or cowboys or vampires or accountants, you can! And at the end of the story, your characters always get a happily ever after.

NG: Is there any particular word or thing in erotic romance novels that you dislike as a reader?

PT: How many people answer this question with “moist”? Everybody seems to hate that word!

On the whole I dislike coy language in sex scenes – “nether lips” and “honeyed petals” and that sort of thing.

Now everyone can play an exciting game where they look for those phrases in my books – and probably find them. It’s much easier to criticise problems in other writers’ work than to notice and avoid them in your own!

NG: Describe your writing process...are you a careful plotter or laid back pantster?

PT: A little of both. For short stories and novellas, I tend to put together a “blurb” with a little information about the main characters, the setting, the central conflict, then start writing. It’s more like the blurb you’d find on the back of a book than an actual plot outline – in fact for Temporary Trouble I used my plotting blurb as my book blurb with very little tweaking. I find that longer stories need a bit more careful structuring, though.

NG: Has your writing process changed since your first book was published?

PT: I’ll tell you after my next release! Temporary Trouble was my first published erotic romance. My next project is going to be a much longer story, and because it’s an historical it will take a great deal more research. I’ve written historical romance before – Bone Idol, set during the Bone Wars of the late 1800s and the first of my Past Perfect series, is due out on the 12th of December. But this is something much more sweeping, with more characters and more firmly grounded in specific historical events rather than a general historical “background”.

NG: What are you working on now?

PT: I’m busy with edits for Bone Idol and for Stone Cold, a film-noir inspired thriller that’s due out as part of Total-E-Bound’s 2012 Valentine’s Day collection Heart Attack. A World-Weary Gumshoe and the Dame who Done Him Wrong – such fun to write!

NG: Nice! P.T. is here today to talk about her scorching new release, Temporary Trouble.

PT: I’m so excited about the release of Temporary Trouble! It’s a great honour to join TEB’s stable of fabulous authors – not least you, of course, Nichelle!

NG: Aww! I feel the same way. TEB has amazing authors! So, in five sentences or less, share what Temporary Trouble is about.

PT: 1. Work can be awfully boring.

2. Practical jokes can liven things up.

3. But mixing work and play can land you in trouble…

4. …and naughty boys have to be punished.

NG: Ha ha! What inspired you to pen this sexy tale?

PT: When I saw that Total-E-Bound were soliciting submissions for a collection about office hotties, all sorts of sexy scenarios sprang to mind! And as for it being a ménage story, well. Two’s company but three’s naughtier…and nicer!

NG: Give me three reasons readers will love Temporary Trouble.
PT: The reviews I’ve had so far agree that Temporary Trouble is funny as well as sexy, which delights me because that’s just what I was trying to achieve. It’s quite a fast-paced and lighthearted story with plenty of two- and three-way action. So, the three Fs – Fast and Funny with lots of…*ahem*…fun.

NG: What's the one thing readers can always count on when picking up one of your books?

PT: I’ve found that my stories include quite a lot of humour, whether it’s direct, like in Temporary Trouble, or much more subtle. For example, I’m collaborating on a horror story with fellow TEB author Amy Valenti. It’s certainly not laugh-out-loud funny, but underneath the grimness there are definitely elements of whimsy and playfulness. It seems to be a natural part of my writing voice.

On the other hand, I’ve actually managed to spook myself writing that story, so readers might find the humour quite well-hidden!

Ben felt stupid over Aaron’s lap with his arse in the air, but he also felt restless and unbearably aroused.
